Looks and rides like a normal bike. Comes with mudguards, rack and stand so can be used for commuting out of the box. Very little to do when it arrived - insert handlebars, fix pedals and charge the battery. Price is pretty reasonable considering the spec and the competition.
Weaknesses:
Heavier than a normal bike (though not by some electric bike standards). The battery charge indicator is very difficult to see when riding. The mode switch has three positions but two are actually the same. There are some minor finish issues - a rough edge to the mode switch for example.
Summary:
Overall I think the bike is a good compromise and suits my needs (a short commute to the train station) very well. It is useable straight out of the box and looks pretty much like a standard bike. The price is pretty good too.
Overall Rating:
(8/10)

I've had a PowaCycle Salisbury LPX for a few weeks now and although its the only electric bike I've ever ridden, I am very pleased with it. I am no lightweight (100KG) and live in Weston-super-mare (very hilly) but it copes well. Minimal documentation hasn't helped (how do you change the rear tyre?) and some spokes were very slack on delivery but otherwise it seems a winner!

I have been very pleased with my purchase. Ride to work 3-4 days a week with some hills and one mammothly steep one which I just managed to get up the other day for the first time without getting off! Really pleased, getting fitter, saving money and having fun! Averaging about 22miles a day. Just have one little gripe, knocking, clicking sound cming from the pedal shaft when apply some serious down force. Will go get it checked out. Fab bike for the money
