First look at the new Forza/Forte electric bikes from 50Cycles
50Cycles have launched two new 'F' series models to compliment their existing range of electric bikes - the Forza and the Forte. Scott from 50Cycles was kind enough to invite us up to their premises in Loughborough last week for a sneak preview of the Forza.

Specifications
Both bikes were launched on the 1st May with availability later this month. The Forza (matt black, trekking bike) will come in at £1399 and the Forte (silver, fast city bike) at £1349.
The two bikes share a number of features including:
250W brushless motor
15.5mph maximum speed, 22mph Turbo Off-Road option
Range up to 30 miles
37V 10A Lithium power pack
Bicycle weight 58 lb (26.3kg) including li-ion battery
6061 T6 alloy frame
Forza - You can have any colour you want as long as it is black
The Forza comes in matt black finish giving it the stealth bomber look! It also comes with a 8-Speed Shimano Nexave hub (11- 13 - 15 - 1 7- 21 - 25 - 29 - 33T). Braking is provided by a Magura hydraulic rim brake at the front and a Shimano disc brake at the rear.
In keeping with European/UK legislation, top speed is limited to 15.5mph although both bikes come with a Turbo mode giving access to increase power for those who have access to off-road facilities.
Almost identical in looks to the eZee Torq
The Forte will be available in a Silver finish and comes with a Shimano Nexus Inter 8 hub (12, 14, 16, 20, 24, 27, 31, 38T - 307% range). Braking is provided by a Tektro V-brake front brake and a Shimano Roller brake at the rear.
First Impressions of the Forza
First impression was the welcome addition of the front suspension forks. The Forza was quite happy to soak up the bumps on our test route.
Hill climbing was another bonus. On a quick test up a local 1 in 8, the bike reached a speed approaching 12mph without pedalling from a standing start. Given a longer stretch this speed would no doubt have increased further.
Performance on the level was very similar to the Torq model, that is currrently 50Cycles top seller, but the wider gear ratios made hill climbing much easier on the Forza.
The smaller frame (17" with 26" wheels) should make it more useable by those of a shorter stature.
Our brief test did not enable us to test the battery life and range, but we suspect similar figures to the existing range, roughly 30 miles per charge according to 50Cycles.

If you are in the market for a high end bike then these two should be on your list for consideration.
