Hi BertYardBrush, welcome to the forum. Yes, that's fine, you won't have done any harm, but it's not worth trying discharging that way since with no load on the motor it will run for many hours on not much battery. Discharging by riding on the road is very much quicker, especially if sticking to hill climbing.
Is it a Li-ion battery or NiMh? If you aren't sure, it should say on the charger whether it's for Li-ion or NiMh. I'm asking because they need to be treated in different ways to get the best out of them.
The Quando is very moped like with it's powerful motor and little need for pedalling.
