Some cutouts experienced Rob, when under load continuously as in hill climbing for example, the voltage can drop to below 32 volts and the safety cut-out operates. Then it has to be switched off and back on to reset and enable moving off again.

When these cutouts are experienced, it's an indication that the cells are on the way out, and the cutting out gradually becomes more frequent and at lower load levels. Eventually it's too inconvenient to continue with the battery.

The other day I caught myself standing in front of my bike where I had parked it at the hospital where I work. I was actually singing a love song to my bike. Glad none of my colleagues or patients caught me before I did.

Supplies of the latest Sanyo made battery should arrive in the States shortly, so whenever in the future your battery finally dies, at least you be able to get an even more capable replacement. I think in your New York City location your battery will probably have quite a long life.
