Cyclamatic Folder

I purchased this bike about two weeks ago, the intention was a gift for one of my grand daughters who attends college on a daily basis. They are coming to visit next week and on talking to my son yesterday was informed that they are looking at a motor scooter for her (which probably makes sense)

Anyway, it`s the Cyclamatic folder that was being offered a couple of weeks ago and I picked one up at the discount price. Charged battery and rode it once for about three miles. (If it`s any help my wife has the MTB version and has used it a number of times and is very satisfied) I could leave it in the shed I suppose but I have other projects in mind and need to finance them.

So! there we have it, as new as one could get (been stored indoors) The problem might be delivery (I`ve tried to send large items in the past and couriers usually need you to have an account) So! as long as anyone who buys it doesn`t live too far from me(Norfolk) I`m prepared to deliver in my car or van for the cost of the fuel and a cuppa

Let me just say that on that short ride I would say that it would be good for fun or local shopping or to get a feel of E bikes. I wouldn`t advise it for long distance commuting etc as the gearing is leaning towards the lower side. It goes well on pedelec and on throttle only and also on your own steam but by their nature they are not racing machines. If we lived in or close to a town I would just keep it charged up for running around on rather than finding parking spots.Also, I`m not sure how light the better folders like brompton are but it isn`t the sort of weight that you would want to carry around on and off trains etc.

Sale price as I paid £320 ( a bargain and a good first time buy for beginners and teenagers)

Now I`m going to tell you a little story, are you sitting comfortable?

I made it known to our postman that I`m using e bikes, in the conversation I mentioned that I was selling a new folder that was surplus to my requirements since my granddaughter preferred to sit and twist the throttle of a dirty fuel guzzling scooter. I then get a knock on the door from someone in a close village enquiring as to the E bike (they live 3 miles from the local town and have the same postman) they looked, they rode and they purchased( and why not! the cyclamatic folder at £399 is a steal, delivered in my van FOC, set up and tested + riding lessons:-)
So! I delivered it and had a small tear in my eye as I waved it goodbye :-(

That`s nearly £80 profit:-) Now that`s what I call an excellent E Bike! you make money while it`s stored in the garage:-)

Wait! the story hasn`t ended :-)

Because my wife rides a Cyclamatic Plus MTB she had got a coupon in an E mail offering the big discount on the folder (it`s out of date of course)
she looks at me and tells me she loved that little folder and was looking forward to sticking it in the back of the car when we nip up to the coast as we do on a regular basis because we live fairly close.
I tell her to phone up and tell them she`s been away riding the excellent Cyclamatic Plus and just must have that folder and if she can swing it at the discount price I will buy it for her.( silly me)

She`s a women, turns on the charm and we are waiting for TNT at this moment:-)

So! now thats a folder for £240 not much above the cost of a battery. Can I do it again I ask?

I must admit that I only sold it to finance another MTB E bike project and have decided that since I can only just get into my bike shed I`m going to stick at that and am now going to replace the chainring on the folder like I`ve done on my powerbike to lift the gear ratio.

I`ve just turned the heating on in the shed awaiting delivery of the cardboard box:-)

BTW Eddio, whilst you are without a bike I could rent the folder out to you at very reasonable rates and deliver

You are quite the entrepreneur

I have the wife's bike a beautiful new wisper 905SE far less embarrassing then yours but I don't like these step through's with swept back handlebars you do feel a bit of an egit riding it, BUT! less likely to get nicked I guess

She wont start commuting till it warms up so as long as I have something in the next month or 2. Starting motorhoming again February half term, so will have to use a non electric then

It`s all charged up and goes a treat. I got my rocks off this afternoon just admiring that silky smooth paint job and those beautiful modern lines I rode it around the field a few times just to check her out and brought her in before she got too dirty:-)

That bike sleeps with me tonight, folded up beside my bed where I can reach out and touch her in the dark. Now that is SAD.
