Default Owner Reviews Needed !!!

I've add an Owner Review section to the main site so if you are happy to help potential owners decide which bike to purchase, please can you fill out an Owner Review?

http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/categories/Reviews/Bike-Reviews/

The first heading is labelled : Submit Your Own Review

If you click on this, you will be presented with a form whereby you can fill in a number of fields. I've tried to keep it simple.

All reviews are emailed to me so I can filter out any spam ones so there will be a delay before it appears. I will add a page for each bike and on that page, there will be a table per review with the users comments within.

Fri 5th Jan '07 : Thanks to everyone who has submitted a review so far. Please keep them coming folks!!!

Default My Powabyke Review

I don't know where else to put this message and I've tried to use the email option in the contact us section but it won't work so i've put this message here !

I have put forward my review of my bike ( Powabyke speed commuter 24 ) but the Author is coming up wrongly as Russell Scott. Also Russell Scotts original review seems to have dissapeared ! so ther sholud be 2 reviews of this bike mine and his.

I would be most thankfull if you could credit me as the author of my review.

Thanks Ross Phillips.

Hi Ross,

here is a link to your review:

http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/articles/6...ews/Page1.html

Sorry the Contact Us section does not work, we've had to disable it as we are being targetted with spam at the moment.

The main site is based on a Content Management System which enables Richard and I to add new articles to the site without having to code web pages directly. As we are the only two 'authors' it is our names that come up on each article.

For the reviews, you will see your name credited in the first line of the review table. Also some reviews contain reviews from more than one person so you will see each identified accordingly.

All the above will be changing though as we migrate over to a completely new front-end over the coming weeks.

Hi there,
I had a go (the beginning of the week) and submitted a bike owner review of my Cougar Mountain Electric Bike.
It's not in the list yet - will be appearing at all?
Forgive me for being blunt and I don't mean to be rude but ....
I notice the reviews seem to be for a selection of bikes, from a small selection of manufactures.
Are these the only bikes you want reviews on?
There's a lot of bikes available now and it seems a bit short sighted to be selective in the reviews - hardly gives a fair view overall.

Be interested in your reply.

A reply for Russ meanwhile.

Reviews are wanted for every type and make of e-bike, and the bias to just a few makes reflects only the membership's bike ownership. The more there are, the happier all will be, and that includes popular second hand models which are no longer available new. This really is an open forum with no policy bias, open to every form of e-bike and shade of opinion on them.

As a defence against any misuse, the reviews do go through admin before posting, and I know that Russ has had a lot on his plate lately so that may have caused delay. It will appear ok, but I'll mail him a reminder for you.

Hi Footie,

apologies for your review not appearing straight away. I do have several which I need to put up as soon as I can.

We are reliant on owners to submit their reviews so the ones you see are obviously ones which we have had reviews for. If a bike doesn't appear in the list, it is because nobody has submitted a review for that bike.

As Flecc says, we don't favour one company over another. It's very important that all opinion is welcome, positive and negative.

rsscott, flecc, thankyou for replying.
I was not meaning to get at anyone.
I'm a Senior Site Supervisor of a large Comp and it's in my nature to question things when they don't seem right to me.
It just seemed the reviews were all (excuse the language) sit up and beg bikes and I know there are a lot of funky, MTB bikes about. It just seemed a little one sided.
But as you say it's down to who reviews their bike. Maybe the ones with the funky bikes are out having too much fun on them to bother about reviews

No problem, it's right to question, very much better than apathy every time.

BTW, could those funky MTB riders be too exhausted with pedalling the things to indulge in the effort of typing? Only teasing!
