Hello all,

I've been lurking for quite a while, and jumped in the other day with a post without introducing myself - how rude.

I've been cycling all my life but really got back into it more recently after long term illness affected both my fitness and tolerance for putting up with buses/tubes etc in London. I love cycling - the freedom!

Anyway...after said illness. no money so my newish interest in all non-fossil fuel technologies is a little academic until I'm back at work, but it is fascinating to watch and anticipate emerging technologies.

I've tried out the eZee Torq (felt fantastic), Powercycle Cambridge for a day (not my cup of tea) and another I don't even remember now (didn't like).
I fell in love with the Schwinn Continental by looks alone, but now have my sights set on the Cytronex.

That's me for now, thanks to all for the interesting, enlightening stuff here!!!

I wonder how many folk are registered here now? Are ebikes finally taking off as they should?

regards,
Soph

Question Newbies

First I should introduce myself- I am Keith and apart from one or two exceptions I havent ridden a bike for years
: Well I have read much about these newfangled machines now and I am still undecided.I would like two bikes , one for me and one for the better half who hasn't been on a bike for about 30 years. I had a go on a friends bike in Holland last year having not ridden for years, ouch sore undercarriage, I was most imressed by the encased gearing.
We have a campervan and travel to diifferent parts of the country (mainly yorkshire, the peak district and cornwall) but live in Suffolk, although not particularly mountainous we do have a fairly steep hills out of the village in all directions bar one. We are both in our mid 50's, unfit and each about 95 kg ( yes I know, fatties).
Initially I liked the look of the windsor LPX; nice looks and about the right price and an ideal weight. However, it looks like it wont cope with anything but the gentlest of slopes. we both ideally would favour step-throughs with an upright riding posture.
Then I looked at powerbike's shopper a good price but very heavy and I think an ugly little bike but it could suit our needs. Maybe its a lot lighter to lift in and out of the camper if the battery is removed.
Another consideration has been folders but I understand these are more difficult to ride as an ordinary bike due to the smaller wheels and gear ratios.
I was very imressed by the spec on the Ezee Sprint but they seem to be as rare as hair on an egg.and according to 50cycles uk have been superceeded by the Kalkhoff Aggatu (and then I fell in love!) but its rather a lot of money considering our inexperience.
Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Hello Gyro. The eZee bike importer has changed and the Sprint is available from the new importer:

Cyclepoint

It's quite close in price to the Agattu now though, and the heavy duty frame of the Agattu might be a better for you both.

Hello everyone, I've new here! My name is Kam and im a complete novice, not only to e-bikes but cycling in general. I dont have very good health and hardly any energy so an e-bike for me is ideal.

Really dislike using the tube so I took the plunge and bought a Wisper 905se today! I test rode it and it was amazing. I pick it up on Tuesday.

I have a loads of questions about it but I will post those in the general section..

Looking forward to being a part of this exciting community!

Kam

Hello Sopht, welcome. A total of 1261 members have registered from October 2006 when the Pedelecs site started, and there are currently 1056 active members.

I wouldn't go as far as saying e-bikes are taking off as they should, but sales are definitely increasing in these dearer fuel and congestion charging days, so there's hope yet!

Default Solenero from Italy

Hi to everyone

I' m Ezio and i live in Turin a quite big industrial city in NW of Italy.
From 2004 i would like to own a pedelec but e-bikes's quality at that time was quite bad. In that year i was triked on e-bay whwn i tried to buy a e-bike on that e-commerce platform.

Now i'm an happy KalKoff Agattu 7G owner
Every day i go to work on my bike. I do 23km+23Km

i read of this forum on italian one similar place. In England n generally on north nations pedelcs are really popular than here. I can see here a very lot variety of pedelec ....in Turin is not simple to find a shop where you can buy or try e-bikes........see you soon n sorry for my english it is a little rusty

Welcome to the forum Solenero, I'm glad you're happy with your Agattu, it's a fine bike.

In England we have the same problem of very few shops where an e-bike can be tried, and we sometimes have to travel the length of the country to an importer's to try one. We do have lots of models we can buy though.

Please don't worry about your skill with the English language, it's better than most of us could manage with Italian.
