Wisper 806 Alpino From Greece
Hello Everyone
My name is Sarantis i am from Greece . I have bought WISPER 806 ALPINO ,new to this world of electric bikes.
Well I live in Oraiokastro a suburb of Thessaloniki, which is northen Greece. Its quite hilly and I am commuting to work in alpino every day 24km to return -> 24 min downhill -31 min. uphill. It is an excellent bike (so far).I recommend it. The battery performs excellently(36V 9A Lithium Ion battery Panasonic)It has range 48 km.
For a month I have been traveled 400 km

Welcome aboard
Hi Sarantis,
Welcome to Pedelecs forum, and what a grand introduction with some excellent photos of the 806 Alpino with your homeland as a backdrop.
I have had a number of test rides on this machine and found it to be a powerful puller. My only concern was how sharply the power assist starts. I understand you have frost and snow during the Winter months, so a little care will be needed in case the front wheel spins out when starting off. The 806 Alpino is a fine little machine, but it would be even better with a 'soft start' to the power assist.
It is always good to hear from overseas members, so feel free to post on any subject , especially with some more photos of the 806 around Thessaloniki.
Have fun with the Wisper
Best regards
Bob

Hi Bode - sorry for tardy reply, just returned from Southwold in Suffolk where cycling is a LOT gentler than here in Bath; hired a beautiful Pashley Guv'nor and 3-speed gears were plenty for the terrain, whereas they would be hard work around here! Certainly looking forward to giving the Two Tunnels a go but I can't make out as yet what effect it will have on my commute except for keeping me out of the way of HGV's...

Talk about slooooow
No, I'm not on about the electric bikes but more so the drawn out registration process of this site. No word of lie, it's been so long I had a hard job remembering my log in details. Admin, I wanted to ask a question about bikes but have had to wait about a week just to post. Sorry but that's pathetic! get you act together please :-) {disgruntled moan over}

Newbie question as to which budget bike
Hi everyone, sorry for first post moan but thats all over now :-)
I'm Richard (aged 43) and am totally new to the electric bike scene and haven't seen / tried one and don't even think I know anyone who has one. I'm never been allowed to drive as can't see the legal limit having inherited bi-congenital cataracts. Not as fit as would like so maybe should get a standard cycle but have got 2 quite young lads who just wanna race now they've learnt to ride a bike.
Don't have much of a budget so high end spec is out of my league. I have budget of about £500, possible up to £700 at a push, so could do with some very astute advice on which bike to get. Don't fancy a kit as me and building things don't exactly see eye to eye :-)
All sensible advice much welcome & appreciated.

Welcome to our forum pridepark. The long registration process was probably set up to dissuade spammers registering on our site (we did have a problem with this a while ago selling phones and generally causing a nuisance). Richard or Russ may have a better idea though I suspect that is one reason.
There are plenty of threads about budget bikes/choices on the main forum if you want to have a look through. Otherwise drop a post there and you should get a better response.
PS Old Timer is a big fan of budget bikes so a search through his post should be informative.
