    Cytronex Trek reliability

We bought the first two Cytronex Treks on the market and I can report that they have been completely reliable over more than 1000 miles.:)

    Got my Cytronex!

I'm pleased you like it Barnowl - we're still loving ours.

    Cytronex Owners (Light Query)

On my version, the connections are spades and just push onto exterior connectors. I do have a feeling that polarity matters though - I'm sure Mark can confirm.

Grrrr, no CycleScheme option for Cytronex

I head a small organisation with about 70 employees. We run the cycle to work scheme ourselves. As long as your employer is VAT registered, there is really no excuse not to. I suggest you and other like-minded cyclist give them a hard time about their green credentials.

    Specialist wheel builders.

Chas Roberts of Croydon, Tel: +44 (0)20-8684 3370 or Roberts Cycles - handbuilt lightweight custom bicycles and frames. Also one of the best touring/audax/general frame builders left.

    New Powabyke

When I first got the Cytronex, I thought that the 24 gears were overkill and, wanting to think I could still cycle even though I had hardly touched a bike for 5 years, I never left the big chainring, even on hills. Mark persuaded me to use the gears on hills and I now go much faster up them...

Getting a powered hub wheel rebuilt

My trueing jig cost £15 and the dishing tool a tenner and they've certainly earned their keep. I wouldn't want to build a wheel without them (and I wouldn't trust most bike shops to either!) Still I'm not a professional cycle mechanic!

Getting a powered hub wheel rebuilt

I really wouldn't want to rebuild a wheel in the bike frame. You really need to use a proper dishing tool and truing jig to get it right. A competent bike shop OUGHT to be able to take the wheel out OK!

    Astonishing ride in Beijing

Hi Tony, I think (as others have observed) that the crucial difference in UK cycle sport over the past 10 years has been the organisation. The British Cycling set up is both awesome and ruthless - requiring complete dedication from the sportspeople but offering a level of support unrivalled...

    Astonishing ride in Beijing

I know Flecc has already posted on Nicole Cooke and there has been some cynicism expressed about the whole Olympic jamboree......... But this morning's ride by the team pursuiters was out of this world. They took 3 seconds off their own world record set only a couple of days ago, which is an...

    Pro Connect Lights

The front light you show is used on the Cytronex as standard. It's a great light but will need to see close to 6V. The Cytronex has a voltage regulator in the battery to deliver this. If you want to run it direct, is suspect you will need to cobble something similar.

    Pro-Connect first range test.

What makes a bike easy to ride? Flecc challenged me to write an article on what makes for an efficient bike and I’ve fallen for it! We are talking about human-powered bikes here, but most of the same principles will apply to power-assisted bikes to one degree or another. The first thing to...

    Pro-Connect first range test.

That's tempting too Flecc - though, as we both know, pretty well all bikes are amazingly efficient in the conventional sense of the word. I quess what is interesting is what makes some bikes seem easier to ride , or "livlier", than others. I do think this is an interesting question and it has...
