I do about 35-40 km/h with pedaling. Didn't try it with minimal effort yet (my goal is still to 'work' on the bike, but go faster then before). I doubt it's a direct drive motor. It's just way to small for that. But maybe someone with more tech knowledge can elaborate on that.

With the rear hub model there is apparently no need for a pedelec sensor. The speed sensor is build in inside the hub. No idea how this works (but i hope it does). Jerry, do you also have the model with built in controller? How did you add your cutout brake?

11 kg is indeed a bit on the bright side, I think. But the motor only weights 2kg and the Keyde seat post battery (not the battery used here) only 1.3 kg according to their specs (http://www.keyde.com/?do=product&lang=en&event=view&ids=63). So they now how to make a lightweight setup.
