As I had alot of useful help on my last thread about crank motor bearings I thought I'd post this up. Original Bosch 400w failed sometime ago and I bought a new one from Germany. Does anybody now repair them? as it could just be one cell down thats causing the battery management to cut all power

No its still fully intact but absolutely worn out. Popped the seal out and it is full of contaminated grease.

Great thanks, the bearing did indeed come away with the casing so I just need to get a large socket and gently push it out. Where did you get your new bearing from?

Doh, I was looking too deep into the casing and what I thought was a seal in the cover plate was actually the bearing.

Cant find a utube guide showing the crank shaft removal and don't want to damage the sensor. Anybody shed any light as how to get access to the drive bearing?

Shall pop one of those beuts on when assembling

Thanks for the replies, Plastic casing off and aluminium cover, the through shaft seems tight. Seems tobe signs of water ingress from behind the sprocket that hasn't helped

Unfortunately theres no warranty on mine so will try to repair it myself. Thanks for the link but can't find the specific bearing. Are there any special tools required when stripping down the motor?

Thanks for the reply, Yes the radial play is excessive. Wow thats some expensive bearing but I surpose its quite a specialed part. The bikes a year old now and probably about 500 miles of decent offroad. Will strip it down and check sizing

Hi all, When cleaning the drive train I noticed excessive movement in the motor crank drive, it this a replaceable bearing that can be changed? Thanks
