    Adding battery capacity

I ride at about 1/2 throttle, but am new to ebikes and don't have all the energy saving techniques down. I can probably get this up to 15 miles. The battery and motor are new. There are sites on the Internet that show how to make your own battery packs at considerable savings.

    Adding battery capacity

I get about 12-14 miles on my recently assembled ebike kit. The battery is 36v, 10ah and I'm wondering if there isn't a cheap and dirty way to piggy back a smaller battery pack to the unit to get another couple of miles. I know, why not pedal more. Well, I'm 72 years old and getting too old...

Is This Home Brew Wiring Diagram Going to Fly?

    >>I've never come across a controller that works like that. This is the controller: 36 Volt 500 Watt 36V 500W Speed Controller Designed for 36 Volt motors up to 500 Watts. Maximum current 25 Amps. Under Voltage protection 31 Volts. Current limiting feature prevents controller and motor...

Is This Home Brew Wiring Diagram Going to Fly?

    >>What does it switch, though? Do the two wires become joined when it switches on, or does it require battery power and it switches something in the motor? The thermal switch in the motor is a bimetal switch that opens the contacts when heated. The thermal switch wires go to the controller...

Is This Home Brew Wiring Diagram Going to Fly?

The key switch is integral with the battery, so I didn't show it in the diagram. Thermo switch is normally on, i.e., passes current, if the motor overheats, the switch opens and shuts down the motor.

    Heinzmann 24v motor w/ 36v battery?

I plan to pedal assist on hills and never use full throttle. How fast is "not particularly fast"?

    Heinzmann 24v motor w/ 36v battery?

Yes, I got that sussed a while ago. I'm interested in knowing if a 36v battery will kill the motor or if it's a doable hot rod modification.

    Heinzmann 24v motor w/ 36v battery?

    >>Regarding your Heinzmann Classic motor identification, are you sure about the sticker label? Yes, it's verbatim. A German ecar designer and Heinzmann guru said he couldn't find a reference for it in his model list, so it could be an older model. Neither the US Heinzman importer or the...

    Heinzmann 24v motor w/ 36v battery?

I'm not sure. It's an older Heinzmann. The ID & spec sticker reads: Heinzmann 870-001 14-05 F825345

    Heinzmann 24v motor w/ 36v battery?

I got a super deal on a Heinzman 24v rear hub motor and the deal included a battery that was still in transit from China. When the battery arrived, it was 36v 10ah. Am I hosed or can a resistor or governor be put in the circuit to deliver 24v. I've read that some motors can run this way...

    Help hooking up LiFePO4 36V-12Ah

I goofed. There is a connector for the battery charger hidden under the handle, which you have to swing out to reveal the charger jack. So never mind on that question. Now I need to know the pin outs on the 3 prong power jack. The Sun Battery website has no help on this.

    Help hooking up LiFePO4 36V-12Ah

Here are pix of the battery showing its only connector and the battery + charger. This came as a kit, but there is no jack in the battery case for the charger plug. I'm assuming there needs to be an intermediate connector box to hook the charger up. Any hint on how to wire this would be welcome.
