I ride at about 1/2 throttle, but am new to ebikes and don't have all the energy saving techniques down. I can probably get this up to 15 miles. The battery and motor are new. There are sites on the Internet that show how to make your own battery packs at considerable savings.

The key switch is integral with the battery, so I didn't show it in the diagram. Thermo switch is normally on, i.e., passes current, if the motor overheats, the switch opens and shuts down the motor.

I plan to pedal assist on hills and never use full throttle. How fast is "not particularly fast"?

Yes, I got that sussed a while ago. I'm interested in knowing if a 36v battery will kill the motor or if it's a doable hot rod modification.

I got a super deal on a Heinzman 24v rear hub motor and the deal included a battery that was still in transit from China. When the battery arrived, it was 36v 10ah. Am I hosed or can a resistor or governor be put in the circuit to deliver 24v. I've read that some motors can run this way...

I goofed. There is a connector for the battery charger hidden under the handle, which you have to swing out to reveal the charger jack. So never mind on that question. Now I need to know the pin outs on the 3 prong power jack. The Sun Battery website has no help on this.

Here are pix of the battery showing its only connector and the battery + charger. This came as a kit, but there is no jack in the battery case for the charger plug. I'm assuming there needs to be an intermediate connector box to hook the charger up. Any hint on how to wire this would be welcome.
