5 separate punctures on a 14 mile journey home

Thanks for this comprehensive reply. As soon as the weather permits me to do fiddly jobs without my hands freezing and seizing, I shall investigate.

5 separate punctures on a 14 mile journey home

It’s definitely a MXUS front hub motor, not sure if model, can’t see any markings but looks like a couple of black stickers that may be covering up model info. will have an investigation tomorrow. is it a simple job to adjust the assist speed?

Sorry totally missed this. No I'm sticking with the Eplus Commute I was given for Christmas until an employer signs up with a Wisper reccomended cycle to work scheme.

5 separate punctures on a 14 mile journey home

No punctures on the way in and a bit more awareness of my route home to avoid the industrial puncture hell. My commute is 15-25 minutes quicker by car but since an office move it's £12 a day parking and even though it's only a 2 day a week job that's a grand a year that easily justifies an...

5 separate punctures on a 14 mile journey home

Everyday is a school day. I’ll add some gloves to my on the road kit. I did have a feel and given what other local cyclists have told me when I mentioned it, it would appear I rode on a notorious section of industrial estate that everyone swerves to avoid punctures. Genuinely excited to try...

5 separate punctures on a 14 mile journey home

First proper commute for work this morning and even though the forecast was wrong and I was soaked it was 52 joyous minutes to do 13 mile to work this morning. However it was 2.5 hours on the way back due to 5 separate punctures (4 front, 1 back) Needless to say I have ordered a pair of...

Occasionally I forget that just over half the voting population had the wool pulled over their eyes by a bunch of self serving whoppers. What a time to be alive.

The technology exists for a complete overhaul of the U.K. transport network to curb car ownership and single occupancy commutes and move towards low carbon shared vehicle use or single rider evehicles. we don’t have the grid infrastructure to move to mass electric car use and it isn’t as if we...

Commuter bike for 6’1 14 stone man

This debate would make a lot more sense if all cars sold in the U.K. were limited to 70mph max and there were campaigns to have cars fitted with sensors to limit the max speed according to the local speed limit. Just popping to the shops in a vehicle that can do 110mph that I didn’t need to...

Commuter bike for 6’1 14 stone man

I already have all of those for a car and a motorbike. It’s not about responsibility, it’s about flexibility. I live 100m from a river. My route to work is 14 miles via a combination of wagonways, dedicated cycle paths and a 1 mile section of city shared use pathway. The route to work via road...

Commuter bike for 6’1 14 stone man

It would be horrific, but speed limits on shared use areas and a higher speed limit on cycle paths combined with insurance and some form of registration is the future. we all know it’s coming, the government just keeps kicking the van down the road regarding e-scooters and sooner rather than...

Yes but for cycle paths rather than roads.
