Shimano Steps SW-E6000 shifter left/right problem

Resurrecting my old thread. So after a year and a half with no problems the right shifter now seems to not be working correctly. The bike won't change gear and the black button is acting as if it's the left shifter's black button. Does anyone know how to reprogram these units? I still have the...

Shimano Steps SW-E6000 shifter left/right problem

Never mind - I figured out how to take it apart and just swapped the button over. Might be useful someday though if anyone knows how to reprogram it!

Shimano Steps SW-E6000 shifter left/right problem

Hi folks The right shifter on my bike lost a button, and I bought a replacement for £20 on Ebay rather than spend £50 for a new one. When I installed it, it appears that although they look the same, my new right shifter appears to the bike as a left shifter and I get a warning W030. According...

Chain ring change size on Shimano steps

Thanks everyone for you help. I made the change from 18t to16t on the back, and it has worked a treat. I'm happy with the slightly higher gearing, and I also installed an adjustable stem to raise the handlebar height. My bike is much better with these two changes, and I wish I'd done it a long...

Chain ring change size on Shimano steps

RIght, yes I was wondering about that. So 38->44 is about 15%. I was hoping that this would mean something like 1st becomes what is currently 2nd, 2nd->3rd etc and I get a useful gear at the top end. I've been trying to find a calculator but can't make sense of what I've found online. Is this...

Chain ring change size on Shimano steps

Hi folks I've had a Raleigh Strada E for about 2.5 years now. It's done 3200 miles and I'm pretty happy with it. There's one thing I'm thinking of changing, though and that's the front chain ring. My commute is downhill most of the way there and uphill most of the way back. I never use 1st...

    Shimano Steps W012 warning message

No, it doesn't make much sense to me either. It's happened in both manual and automatic modes so I don't think that's a factor. It's always when I'm pushing hard uphill - does the shimano system have a torque sensor? Is it possible to install the left and right cranks the wrong way round?

    Shimano Steps W012 warning message

Hi folks! I recently got a new e-bike with the Shimano Steps system and I love it! I have a technical question - maybe someone has seen this before? I've had the bike about 3 weeks, and done about 120 miles so far. On a few occasions, maybe 3 or 4, I get a beep and W012 shows up on the display...
