"It’s safest to buy a complete e-cycle, with battery pack and charger included, from a reputable retailer"

Challenge would be management of supply chain and parts market. The entire supply chain would have to adopt conformity at each stage and certification of same. No testing centre would sign a system off without knowing what was inside the constituent parts. Not an insurmountable challenge and...

UK supplier for reliable rack-mount batteries?

Thanks. The packs I've fitted with bluetooth BMS have to be switched on for it to be active so no danger of that. Which isn't to say that a cheap/poorly built pack might not have that issue

UK supplier for reliable rack-mount batteries?

As per description, looking for reasonable quality 36v rack-mount packs from a UK seller, preferably with bluetooth BMS. Can’t find anything from the usual suspects and the Ali/ebay/amazon options get mediocre reviews at best. Any suggestions? Thanks awfully

Help! Programming bafang motor with a Mac

This ^^^. I gave up trying to find a non-faffy way of getting it to work. Dug out an old Android phone and installed the ‘Speeed’ app. Far easier, just check system specs for the app against the version of Android you’re running.

    Mirrors...or Not ?

Been using two of the Hafny style mirrors on my cargo bike for the last couple of years (sold as 'Klevsour' but arrived branded and boxed as Hafny). They don't wobble, stay where you position them and have a wide enough field-of-view to get a decent idea of what's happening behind you. Having...

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll email them again and see what they reply with

With the full repair rig it weighs in at around 85kg, including box and crates

A trailer for ebike or non ebike towing.

Afraid I reluctantly gave up with the TSDZ2 in the end as it just couldn't cope with what I needed to move and the hills around Horsham. Running a detuned BBSHD with current pulled back and 42/42 for climbing.

Nicely done Nealh. Got no response to my last two emails to WSCC and was about to get the district cycling forum on the case when I saw your post. I can see the WSCC site still shows bikes as being prohibited at Horsham so will email again. PS. On-topic: I've two CF Y large trailers, one used...

BBSHD - rotational knocking sound under higher load with PAS and throttle

Had the drive cover off this afternoon. Final drive bearing was properly seated and felt fine but the inner thrust bearing race was backwards, no damage to bearings or races though. Final drive gear and pinion both looked fine but didn't scrutinise every tooth. Cleaned everything up, re greased...

BBSHD - rotational knocking sound under higher load with PAS and throttle

Thanks both. Was resigned to pulling the drive and opening it again to check so will let you know what I find.

BBSHD - rotational knocking sound under higher load with PAS and throttle

Only does it under load with the motor pulling, i.e. hard acceleration or steep climbs. Power setting doesn’t make any difference. I turned it down to zero and ground up a few climbs to check and definitely only happens with the drive running.

BBSHD - rotational knocking sound under higher load with PAS and throttle

My newly installed BBSHD running at 52V has developed a rotational knocking noise under high loads and occurring under both PAS and throttle. Drive is a BBSHD with Lekkie BBSHD final drive cover V2, well greased with Aeroshell grease 22. @wheeliepete in answer to your question (deleted?), it...
