    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

I got a Tortec rack specifically for 29ers from Halfords for my 2016 Cube reaction - it was on offer and with my BC discount was only £12 it fits fine and replaced the Topeak I had on before from my 27 hybrid the clearance on that was ok but a bit tight. I find the flat deck on the rack works...

    What Chain Lube?

I just do what I've done on motorcycle chains for 30 + years. Clean regularly with paraffin and a lint free rag and lube with engine oil applied using a clean rag- top up before with a squirt from a good old fashioned oil can. Not a fan of sticky chain lubes , imo they simply merge with the...

Carrera crossfire died after 2 days [emoji22]

Could simply be either misalignment of the derailleurs or they are at their extreme limit- if the crank is a double or triple- shimano advise against stressing the gearing by extreme misalignment ie chain on outermost front chainring and innermost rear cassette chainring or (vice versa) as it...

    Cycling in the Rain!!!

I use an enduroguard mudguard on the front - its a short cable tie attached guard but it works pretty well- that said I change my shoes when I get to work anyway. In terms of eye protection I wear my regular glasses in the dark otherwise a decathlon cycling glasses fully tinted in the sun and...

Just been shopping! Cube Reaction Race 500

I've got the 2017 cube reaction great bike - really like the way theve integrated the battery on the 2018 model though. I use the enduro guard rapid racer mudguards on mine, I commute about 12 miles a day on canal paths, they small but do a very good job of keeping me dry. For atenner each they...

    Cycle or die?

Each to their own -I don't consider myself deluded and am perfectly aware of the limitations of the fitbit and indeed any other tracker. To be honest all I'm looking for a from a fitbit is something that tells the time, alerts me to my phone and notes the periods when I do some exercise...

    Wanton and Reckless

In fairness I suspect it was the fact he was riding a bike with no brakes (contrary to legal requirements) at 18mph in the manner he was, that made it wanton and reckless in the jury's eyes. anyone driving or riding any vehicle would be treated the same or worse in the same circumstances.

    Cycle or die?

My fitbit readout from a recent ride home from work on my cube reaction e-mtb. As I ride mainly on canal towpath with a couple of steep climbs along the route I rely on the assistance for the climbs and acceleration other than that mostly above 16mph so no assist. To me that's the great...
