What bike for a tall but light person?

Cube do 23" frames, I'm sure I saw the Cube Acid Hybrid One 400 2018 on tredz/rutland/pauls cycles when I was looking. Though they are above your budget.

Places that accept cycle 2 work vouchers/best bike for £1000

Try Paul's Cycles or JE James. They will expect you to cover the 15% commssion though - eg £1000 voucher will give you £850 to play with. Don't dismiss the Crossfire-E though, Halfords warranty should have you covered. Get out on their 30 minute test ride offer, you have nothing to lose.

    New bike for daily commute

Absolutely chuffed to bits with my bike, got my 6 mile (each way) commute down from just over an hour to around 25 minutes. I'm glad I did test rides, glad I opted for crank drive and hub gears. The crank drive is awesome on the hills here in Sheffield. I do get a little frustrated with the...

    New bike for daily commute

In the end after a hunt locally trying lots of different bikes, I went for a Cube SUV Hybrid 27.5 Pro 500. It was above my budget, so had to whack some cash on but its exactly what I was after. Not been brave enough to take it out on a long run yet, but commute starts this week :)

    New bike for daily commute

Been to a couple of LBS and all much the same, Bosch motor around the £1500 mark, but subject to an extra 15% admin fee due to the Halfords scheme. Which is fair enough. There were some not so subtle hints about derestriction capability :) Halfords, not interested on ordering in anything over...

    New bike for daily commute

If anyone reading has had experience of a shop offering some flexibility, be good to know as might make it all so much less stressful!

    New bike for daily commute

Apparently not :( (https://www.cycle2work.info/Employees/FAQs) Can I add my own money to the LoC value to get a more expensive bike? No. You cannot 'top up' or add to your LoC using your own funds because the employee and employer would jointly own the bike causing issues at the end of the...

    New bike for daily commute

So frustrating that everything that looks viable for me, including decent hub drive is just above 1k :( Find it a little odd that a bike only purchase (eg without battery) isn't possible to get around the quirks of these schemes. Now starting to think that maybe just using the scheme to get a...

    New bike for daily commute

Thanks Woosh, definitely a few things to think about there. Do you guys accept the Halfords C2W scheme, I didn't see it mentioned on your site (I liked the styling of the Rio when I was googling earlier this week)

    New bike for daily commute

Hi The company I work for has signed up to the Halfords Cycle2Work scheme. I've got £1k to play with in the scheme, but not sure if that's going to stretch to an eBike that'll suit my needs. My commute is approx 5 miles each way in Sheffield. Downhill most of the way into work, uphill most of...
