Can anyone share with me and the wider community their success (or lack thereof) in locating a reasonable
purveyor of e bike cover .
My first year cost me about £180.00 for full cover.
I had attempted firstly to include my e/b on the house policy,no chance !
I then went to Velosure ,no complaints there but the market seems to need more players .Help please

What reasons did your house insurer give for not including it on the household policy? Seems very strange they wouldn't cover it.

Mine don't either. Probably quite common I should think.

What reasons are they giving for not covering it? If my house insurer won't cover an e-bike I can see myself moving to one which does, as the other option (of £180 extra for coverage according to the OP) doesn't seem particularly palatable.

They just said they don't cover ebikes. You can't get reasons out of telephone monkeys.

ETA - specialist bike insurance
https://www.eta.co.uk/insurance/cycle/
Then if it gets damaged/stolen it doesn't affect your home insurance premium. You are also covered if you ride into someone else!

(They are very thorough and require your make, model and frame number when you insure).

Esure insured mine for £17 as an add on to my B&C's.

John Lewis were sensible and covered my Bosch within home contents cover, in contrast to about three or four firms who had no understanding of what they were refusing to cover.

I would suspect ETA given my £160 for a 2k quote and last year £100ish for 1k I think they said cost goes up exponentially with the bike value, and given soundwave's bike...
