I have 2x2s lipo's which will always be used in series together. To save me plugging/unplugging 2 leads every time, is it possible to semi/permanently series them together into a 4s then tape them together too as one battery.
The discharge leads I'm sure is easy, simply using a series harness but it's the balance leads I need to know if they can be permanently joined onto a 4s lead for balance charging as one at the same time the discharge leads are kept in series.
Any help with the wiring please?

Yes they can, but you have to remember that the third wire off the frst pack must be joined to the 1st wire of the second pack. Together, they become one wire so that you end up with 5 wires for a 4S pack

Thanks d8veh, yes it was the 6 wires into 5 I was trying to work out. I joined the ones you said to the middle 4s wire(I can't quite get my head around how it works but it does!) Job done.
I now have a single usable 4s battery
