Finally got around to ordering the Badass 3.4 for my Cube Race mountain bike. Im a bit fed up with the motor cutting out just as I'm getting to the speed I want to ride at. Looking forward to it arriving and trying it out.

you might want to get a bigger front sprocket if you want speed or will spin out max is 20t tho i have 18t and 15t dual kit.

For now I just want to stop the motor cutting off at 15mph. I find I'm often wanting to cycle at 15-20mph and Im finding the current cut off a little frustrating. I doubt I'll be wanting to go much faster but if I do then I shall consider your advice and maybe get a bigger sprocket. Thanks.

is there an advantage with badass compared to blackped which fits inside moter housing and can be adjusted by smartphone app, but needs spider tool to undo sprocket they seem to be similar price.

I believe the Badass is easily removable, so no need to access the motor to fit or remove.

All this smartphone app **** does my head in...I would never buy a bike where you need a £200 odd quid phone to update your bike...talk about milking it...shove they smartphone an they shitty little app where the sun dun shine..just another rip off

Really appreciating my newly derestricted bike. When commuting in town centre traffic I can now usually keep up with cars, which is so much better and safer than having every car overtake me. Enjoying not feeling the treacle effect, but I quickly get to the bikes maximum speed (which is now only restricted by the gears) with my feet spinning away on the pedals.

As soundwave has suggested, a larger front sprocket might be on the shopping list soon.:)

20t is about the max size you can go at the front anymore and it is just pointless.

I have a Cube Reaction HPA 500 and I have an 18T on the front cog. Means that I can cruise at 45kph and spin out at 55 (downhill obvs). My groupset is 11-36T. I see that the race 500 has a 11-46t groupset so conceivably you could run a 20T front cog but you'll only ever use top gears downhill and you'll really be shifting at that.

I get connex chainrings from bikediscount.de as they're only 8euro.
