And you believe him?
There's one born every minute!
That will arrive with the Unicorns and Rainbows, assuming Hunt and the DUP camp followers haven't been booted out by then!

What a waste of taxpayers' money and in turn, a waste of EU money; in fact a complete waste of space and major oxygen thief:

Guy Verhofstadt, former Belgian PM, tells it like it really is in front of Nigel(la) Farage

Tom
Why is the fool still turning up to make a nuisance of himself? there is no way he is going to be anything other than an embarassment to this country is there?

An interesting article on Aleksandr Kogan AKA Doctor Spectre
https://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/kogan-facebook-cambridge-analytica-data-14426886
Creator of the Data Stealing app allegedly.
His profile reveals
"
"In particular, we are highly interested in cooperation, trust, altruism, positive emotions, close relationships, happiness, physical and mental health, and cross-cultural differences."

A profile on the department of psychology’s website says Dr Kogan (who it seems was also briefly known as Dr Spectre) received his undergraduate training at the University of California, Berkeley, and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Hong Kong.

'In particular, we are highly interested in cooperation, trust, altruism, positive emotions'

"Ha, ha, ha " As Davis might say "That was then, this is now"

Facebook confirm
It wasn't us
We were abused.

TM will be loving this and hoping the Connections with the Conservative party and personnel pass under the radar.
Undoubtedly the media will try to ensure no one makes the connection.
But the Canary certainly has!

The European Union
This technology has me worried a little about democracy... It is used for manipulating the vote of the less discerning members of the public (yes I am being PC) and has given us Brexit and Trump.

Well at least they have invented something that works!

I am sure it works with the advertisers and for FB - it sounds convincing enough, not sure it works with the audience. Put it this way, how often do you click on the adverts?
The real work is done by the 'Russians' - in forums like this.
and before you ask, no, I don't have any relations in Moscow.

And like most things Humanity have invented, some Sinister Pratt will and has misused the technology and been paid handsomely by the powers that be too!
who do you think misusing the technology?
Analytica?
FB created the API, opened the door to customers to buy information from them.

They claim otherwise, that the knowledge was sold by Cambridge Analytica not them, they had the right to collect it, but not sell it on.
Misusing the technology ? Political parties of course are the end beneficiaries, otherwise why would so much cash change hands?

those big American internet companies are a law unto themselves.
This story will run and run, possibly until the US drops Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act 1996 and make companies like FB, Google, Amazon, Ebay, WhatsApp etc responsible for misuse of personal data entrusted to them by their customers.

Oh Dear! Boris is endangering our own spies, who'd 'a thought we might be doing what we blame the Russians for?
"
Fears Russia could move to unmask British spies in bitter 'tit-for-tat' over poison attack
Exclusive: Senior members of Putin’s administration are incensed by what they consider to be aggressive and inflammatory remarks made by British ministers
Security officials are deeply concerned that the Kremlin may reveal the identities of British intelligence officers in the escalating and bitter confrontation following the Salisbury nerve agent attack, The Independent has learned.

The disclosure could start, it is feared, with those who work for MI6 and the 23 British diplomats being thrown out of Moscow in retaliation for the same number being expelled from the UK. Doing so would break standard protocol in place to protect spies from opposing sides, in recognition that exposing personal details may put them in danger including from terrorist attacks.

It has been the normal practice since the end of the Cold War to avoid leaking such information in these circumstances. The UK has not published the names of the 23 Russians who have been expelled and there are no plans to do so. Some senior members of Vladimir Putin’s administration are, however, incensed by what they consider to be aggressive and inflammatory remarks made by British ministers about Russia’s culpability over the attempted assassination of former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia and are said to be advocating drastic action.

Time to put a muzzle on Boris before he gets someone killed!

That was the reason behind Theresa May stating in the Commons that they did not intend any escalation of retaliation.

I suspect they now know that Russia wasn't responsible this time, but having boxed themselves into a corner they aren't able to back down.
