Stumble upon the truth occasionally?
in truth, Clegg has done a lot more for this country than the majority of MPs sitting in parliament at the moment. He forced the tories to push up tax free allowance, reduced children's poverty and has been pushing for reversing brexit ever since the vote. The last bit explains why the tory press vilifies him at every opportumity.
As far as profiting from his previous appointment as deputy PM, he has not yet got anything substantial from that job in comparison with Osborne and Cameron.

This is the EU /Singapore Trade deal.
Must have taken an hour or two to sort out methinks,we are going to be pretty busy replacing the ones we have at the moment through the agency of the EU
(And we need them yesterday)

Sorry but I'm laughing at the sheer horror of it all

Piece of Cake really, there are only about 50

We are fortunate to have a genius to negotiate them on our behalf.........
Should only take about as many years as we were members of the EU to do, unless we hit any snags, but as the man said "Negotiating a trade deal with the EU should be the Easiest and Quickest of all time."

neither is JC.
Both of them may have something in common: they spell out the aspirations of the young voters.
Anyone can do that and most politicians do. But JC is a true socialist, something that Clegg certainly isn't, and JC actually will bring in his socialism if given the opportunity of office.

This country desperately needs that, such essentials as re-nationalising the railways, Post Office and Water and rebalancing the distribution of wealth.

No other party on offer will carry out those essentials, some are only offering a path to continually worsening the problems they've created.

I regretfully don't think JC is going to succeed albeit I wish he will. They are certainly worthwhile aspirations.
In some ways, the railways is already mostly public owned. The Post Office works reasonably well like it is, not worth giving it a priority. The water companies are expensive to buy back and not a priority.
I reckon JC will take back the rail franchises but if he messes with tax too much or too quickly, it may cause house price to crash, the banks will crash with that, this country will be in deep troubles, up to the neck in debts and all the family silvers have already been sold off to foreigners.

most likely.
And if they didn't, they would keep bleating about another referendum until they got the result they wanted.

Same as that dreadful Scottish woman.

52/48 is not all in or all out and not many people would want half in half out.

we'd need a clear majority in parliament to pass the brexit deal and if a second referendum is called, a clear margin to reverse brexit.

The railways are the most important thing, at the moment they are an expensive often foreign owned disaster and getting worse all the time.

I don't agree on water, what is going on is a disgrace. Thames Water for example is foreign owned and runs as layered companies. Each function from raw water extraction through to final sewage disposal is assigned a company. Each reports on it's activity and takes a profit before passing on to the next company. It's been reported that there are SEVEN of these internal companies, each taking a slice, but all within Thames Water, making it just a way of mounting up an oversize profit total, an accounting fiddle.

Their operational record is terrible with constant often very large fines in multiple courts for almost every possible offence that a water company can commit. This includes a possible 1 billion € fine for the UK government by the EU in consequence of Thames Water's failings.

Between them Water and Rail are pouring money out of the UK into other countries where most of the assets and profits are owned. Nationalising them will save money in the not too distant future.

it would cost upward of 90 billions to buy back the water companies. it could be funded via government bonds but then it can't really be called renationalisation because it will be owned by pension companies, they will still put their shareholders first.

How odd! we have info that as many as 670,000 attended the London Anti Brexit march, but try as I might , I have failed to find out how many millions attended Farages Pro Brexit Rally.

Was there simply too many to count?

then the eurosceptics will ask for another referendum.
Nigel Farage will still be the boss of UKIP.
