I must have been unclear - sorry, but I charge at work so I'm doing 17.5 miles per charge at the mo. I'm pretty sure a single charge wouldn't get me there and back again. Might give it a go one day to see how far I do get though :)

Hmmm. That doesn't look too encouraging then :( I find the problem at it's worst when traffic is congested but moving slowly. However, even on a dual carriageway where the traffic is more sparse, I find I get occasional lungfulls of gunk, especially from lorrys chugging up inclines.

I agree about the grips. Just passable with bare hands but as soon as you put gloves on they're quite uncomfortable over long periods.

Thanks flecc - you put my mind at ease about the extra weight. I bungee my spare on the rack, then put the panniers on top of it which makes it a pain to get to obviously. I did try to put the battery in one of the panniers but it's too big for mine. I'll probably just derestrict one...

oobs, just been looking on the ETA website and was going to get a quote for insurance (am also considering their breakdown cover). They ask for the name of the person (and their ETA number if available) who recommended ETA to you. If supplied that person may get £10 and the new customer also...

Hi all. Thought it might be a good idea to have a thread running where people could recommend any accessories (e.g. lights, panniers, flame throwers etc.) and apparel (e.g. waterproofs, helmets etc.). Also would be handy to warn people off any dodgy items you've had bad experiences with!

My range so far I tried my commute route out for the first time today (Clay Cross to Sheffield). A 36 mile round trip non-stop over pretty hilly terrain with quite a lot of wind. I have two batteries so I could swap for the return journey. On both legs I think I had a little juice left...
