    Highway code changes

I was interested by a report in a national newspaper of library louts deliberately using the Centre of the lane thereby restricting traffic flow.. But, The accompanying photo showed a normal cyclist, no licra in sight.

BBC report just said that if a pedestrian is just stood at a junction traffic has to give way so they can cross.

Trial E-scooters in London - additional conditions

The problem is there is no real penalty for riding one illegally so it is perceived as only being slightly illegal, a bit like a dongle on an ebike, in fact most people dont know anything about the law and buy them for their children as a toy.. whereas driving a car without the relevant...

    Halfords crossfire e bikes

For non cycling Joe Public a modern bike shop can be both confusing and intimidating and sites like this just don't exist, whereas Halfords seems a friendly family space often with small children in with their parents so it's no surprise when said Joe Public decides to buy an ebike, or any...

    Ebike on smart turbo trainer.

I just changed the double rings for one narrow wide ring and it is absolutely fine. The lowest gear allows climbing the steepest of hills and the highest allows 25+mph.

    Ebike on smart turbo trainer.

I used my Giant road e on a bkool smart trainer snd to be honest it wasn't much different to using any other bike. Bkool offers a lit of video rides.

Walking and biking prioritised in new Highway Code

What I really find both interesting and amusing are the amount of drivers who complain that bikes don't pay road tax and should be made to pay like other road users, not realising bikes would be exempt the same as zero omission cars. On one occasion I was being overtaken by a white van...

Walking and biking prioritised in new Highway Code

As an aging pedestrian I often find myself on the receiving end of actions from people like you Flec and I must say it is definitely on the up and is appreciated.

How do i decide on a second hand value for my ebike.

That'd good know. I thought I was being realistic with an expectation of less than 50%, as I wouldn't pay more for a used bike but Flecs guide assumes the buyer will have to replace the batteries which at 1000w is a hefty sum. Going to try a small local dealer first Will see if I can find...

Speed Box 3 B-Tuning for Bosch CX

An observation regarding speedbox dongles. I have a 2016 Giant Road e+1 which has had a speedbox dongle wired in for most of its life. Contrary to what one might think the motor and battery have performed faultlessly for nearly 6000km with the battery still offering 30 to 40 miles of range on...

How do i decide on a second hand value for my ebike.

Thanks for the selling advice but I more interested in assessing value rather than actually selling. I have sold bikes on ebay before but this isn't a typical ebike I don't want to do that.

How do i decide on a second hand value for my ebike.

I am wanting to sell my Riese Muller Supercharger but can't find any reference to how much I should ask. It cost 6.5K in November 2018 and has done 900 miles so all it does is take up space. Any thoughts?

Trial E-scooters in London - additional conditions

Likewise, just an observation of a window into how things might be if e-scooters were rolled out country wide. These were parked in small groups on the pavement with a helmet fastened to the bars. These young lads had found a way to unlock them and were riding really badly and surprisingly...

Trial E-scooters in London - additional conditions

During a recent visit to Newcastle we saw several of these hire scooters being ridden by teanagers without helmets or any regard for traffic law or pedestrians. The unable to ride on pavements technology didn't seem to be working either..

Where did they go to ?

I guess there are are many reasons for this. As an example, I suffered a bereavement which literally changed my life. One might expect that the e-biking and its associated socialising might offer some sort of distraction, but it didn't and even now, as the owner of 3 ebikes I find myself...

Thinking of selling my E-bike but worried about the process and what to ask?

I hade an ebay business for many years and sold over 10,000 items. It might sound counter productive but £0.99p is the best starting price for all things. The most expensive bike I sold went for £1500, I sold my camera for 2.5K, so not talking small potatoes exactly and they all started at...

Thinking of selling my E-bike but worried about the process and what to ask?

In my experience of selling bikes and bike parts on ebay is that most buyers tried to get me to post it. Bad idea in my opinion so I advertise as collection only and stick to it, that way the buyer sees exactly what they are buying. I always refused test rides but offered a refund if they...

    What if it’s stolen?

When mine was stolen I had the idea that if the stolen bike details could be added to a database of sorts that could be checked against, or a flag added for service access. Whist this may seem unfair on the buyer who stands to loosesome money, theft is massively unfair on the victim who has...
