Correct use of Nuvinci Nfinity 330

I've ridden with a nuvinci 360 harmony for 6 years now. The hub is continually engaged so doesn't 'care' about shifting, the chain etc would prefer you maintain pressure and not lift off, the shift cable will have extra stress but it is your wrist that will be the limiting factor.

Yorkshire Cycle Expo 12th to 14th October 2018

This article in German (use Google translate) has a chart that shows the efficiency and range of various hub gears including rohloff and nuvinci. The rohloff has more bottom end so better for steep hills. http://fahrradzukunft.de/17/wirkungsgradmessungen-an-nabenschaltungen-2/

    Cube SUV Race 500 2017 - with nu-vinci hub

I ride up an unmade 15% hill outside my house, but 25% would be too much without a different chain wheel, which would restrict the top speed. The nuvinci is best suited for urban/commuting, not touring.

    Cube SUV Race 500 2017 - with nu-vinci hub

I've been happily using a nuvinci geared bike for 4 years now. It suits the stop/start constant speed changes of my urban journeys. The nuvinci is 'sealed for life' intended to be maintenance free and not repairable. I have the Harmony version which is fully automatic, I personally wouldn't...

    This mornings Sunday Times

From road.cc/content/news/203474-e-bikes-being-widely-used-over-their-speed-limits ”The Sunday times found the retailer 50Cycles selling a range of German Kalkhoff “speed ebikes” with 350-watt motors capable of speeds of up to 28mph.” Can the impulse motor handle the strain?

    NuVinci

It may be that because the Kalkhoff has a torque sensor, when you start off you subconsciously put in more effort and so does the assist, then you start to ease off and so does the assist.

    NuVinci Marmite

Occasionally I see posters asking for an opinion of the NuVinci CVT. I've used a NuVinci Harmony for the last 18 months and have been very happy with it. Whether or not the NuVinci will suit you depends on where you sit on the convenience / performance curve. With the NuVinci Harmony you...

    Nuvinci Problem

I had this problem once, which was 'fixed' by disconnecting / connecting the battery then going through the calibration sequence, repeated several times. Otherwise you could try reinstal or update the Nuvinci Harmony N360 firmware from http://harmony.fallbrooktech.net/.

    Mechanical doping ???

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has described a motor hidden in the seat tube and bottom bracket as ‘old doping’ suggesting that special wheels, able to produce 20-60 watts via electromagnetics and costing 200,000 Euro, are the most sophisticated form of mechanical doping currently in use...
