    Ebike catches fire....

Not sure that throwing water on a lithium battery is a good idea, especially one still connected up to the mains!

    Bike locks

I have the Abus Granit D lock with cable. Solid Secure Gold rated to comply with my insurance t&cs and doubt a thief would get through it without an angle grinder that would sure make a lot of noise! They are a total bargin IMO...

    Pannier racks

Mine tilts slightly forward because the rack simply doesn't have long enough arms to connect to the frame below the seat post and still swing into being completely horizontal. I can't lower it any further or it hits the mudgard and wheel. My pannier bag (Altura Urban) has a clip which stops it...

    Bosch motor failure

You have me worried now! I've done a similar mileage on my KTM Activeline powered bike and will be getting back onto the saddle soon now that the worst of winter is hopefully behind us. Can't remember how long the warranty is on the unit but it was at least a year.

News: The rise of the speed pedelec

I'd be happy if they just allowed regular e-bikes to assist up to 20mph. I regularly settle at 17mph on a flat and wish I still had a little assistance to help sustain that speed over longer distances. 20mph is still regular bicycle speed as you can easily pedal that quickly on a road bike. As I...

    EBike (First Post)

Now is a great time to buy as there are 2015 models kicking around looking for a sale to make room for the 2016 stock. The KTM Macina Fun 9 almost fits your bill, save for the gearing and it is a little over budget...

    Bosch not working! Help plzzz

Have you tried taking the display unit off and putting it back on again? May have just been a bad connection. If there is an error then it usually displays a code at the bottom of the display. Error Codes (from the Bosh manual) 410 One or more buttons of the on-board computer are blocked. Check...

    Been lurking a while

Sent you a PM. The dealer organised that for me (got them thrown in as part of the sale). They appear to be Raleigh Elements. The front is fine but the back is very, very close to rubbing and there isn't room to raise the height any more due to the frame attachment. Get the job done however...

    Been lurking a while

Hi Ian Great to know there is another KTM Macina Cross 9 owner out there :) I'm not sure which rack TBH. I discussed it with my local dealer when the bike was getting its 6 week check over and I've left the decision up to them really. Due to the disc brakes they think it will need a rack...

    Bosch charger - plug fuse

Thanks. When I popped the fuse cover off I found the 1A fuse is shorter so wouldn't fit in the other plug. Put the cover back on and used the adaptor today when charging the bike. Seemed to charge fine and didn't blow the fuse or trip the RCD in the garage.

    Attaching lock bracket - paintwork

Thanks. Annoyingly I threw away some old, perished inner tubes just a couple of months ago! Anyway bought a cheap one out of Halfords today which I can cut up to fit. Seems like a better solution than tape, giving a bit more cushioning.

    Bosch charger - plug fuse

OK will swap the fuse over and see what happens. I guess the worst that happens is the fuse pops where as too big a fuse could be dangerous.

    Bosch charger - plug fuse

My charger came with a euro plug and an adaptor. It's just a standard C7 (fig 8) cable so I'd like to swap it with a UK one. The fuse in the adaptor is 1A but the charger has a label saying the input is 1.5A. Can anyone confirm the fuse rating with their Bosch Active/Performance Line charger?

    Attaching lock bracket - paintwork

Now that I have my new bike I need to fit my new lock. Its an Abus that comes with a plastic bracket. I'm a bit worried about the hard plastic of the bracket damaging the paint on the tube of the frame. Any suggestions? I've thought about using some kind of tape (masking or electrical) but I...

    Been lurking a while

Got it :D Massive smile on my face when I got home! 12.5 miles or so in 54 minutes despite only having been on my ordinary bike a handful of times this year. Hopefully I'll be able to get out on it more at the weekend. Also brushing up on my German because not all the instruction manuals are...

    Been lurking a while

Bit of an update. Annoyingly when my dealer went to order from Giant when they reopened on Monday, they appear to have run out of stock :( There didn't seem to be any clear indication when/if more stock would be coming so I've decided to go for a KTM Macina Cross 9 instead. :) I tried a KTM...
