Won't be long before they're doing this to off road e-bikes too

I don't think so. They have been after off road bikes with engines for a long time now. It's the noise partly, and the legal aspect with insurance. None of which apply to e-bikes.

    Folding electric bike

I fear you may have to up your budget to get a decent folding bike that will compare favourably to your previous Juicy bike. I have a 6 year old step through Juicy Classic and know that they are good bikes which you probably, like me, paid around the 1k mark for. But even these are now nearer...

    suitable wing mirrors

I wouldn't hesitate to get some bar end mirrors. In fact since fitting ours some about 5 years ago, I've never looked back - BOOM! But seriously, once they are positioned correctly and tightened up, you only need to look back to actually signify to vehicles behind that you are pulling out. So...

    suitable wing mirrors

Do a search for bar end cycle mirrors and you should get plenty that plug into the end of your handlebars. Well worth having for sure. I wouldn't be without them.

    Replacement Ebattery Key

Just wanted to let members know about good service that I have received from a company called Replacement Keys Ltd, https://www.replacementkeys.co.uk/ I lost my spare battery key and was anxious to replace it, but it had no key code on it and Timpsons couldn't find a blank so were unable to...

    Highway code changes

If you Google 'highway code changes 2022' you will find loads of information. I agree that it's not been publicized sufficiently.

    Your Thoughts ?

He's got to have a serious wind drag problem with that lot on his bike! He probably had to set off for Brighton a few days early!

    Your Thoughts ?

Nobody has mentioned the problem of fully turning your head to look behind when you get older - which I'm afraid becomes very difficult. It's another good reason to use bar end mirrors. I am sure as well that it takes longer and renders the bike unstable if you look properly behind you. A quick...

    Your Thoughts ?

I use end of bar mirrors but always look to the side as well before changing direction. It's a good discipline that i learnt when riding a motorbike to cover your blind spot. Wouldn't be without the mirrors i must say.

    security and insurance

Most people can't keep their bikes inside the house to be honest and i haven't had anything stolen from inside our locked garage door the 30 odd years that we have lived here. It depends where you live of course but if it's left in a shed or garage rather than outside you are more likely to get...

    security and insurance

We keep ours in a locked garage and are covered under cycles by our house and contents insurance. Depends how much yours is worth but it may already be included.

E-Bike recommendations for my wife with MS

Maybe a step through with small wheels may help with her confidence? She will be nearer to the ground riding on a smaller frame. I only base this idea on the face that when i tried out a 28" wheeled bike as against my usual 26" i found it most alarming! I assume that the reverse is probably true...

    Throttles - eScooters v eBikes

Whilst i might agree with you about throttles (i have one on mine and it is useful for setting off on hills and at lights), i don't think that using E scooters as a reason to bring them back is at all a good idea. They have had very bad press and some known fatalities so i doubt that throttles...

    Commuting e-bike, most power assist

Mine has a throttle and I'm pretty sure the new ones at Juicy do as well. Useful for starting off at lights or on a hill i find but you would find you use a lot of battery when you apply it. However for a short ride to work, especially if you can recharge there, you will certainly find it useful...
