or if it would be possible to check the output, but if like you say its that rating not the actual power that counts then I guess its just abou whether the 350 is marked anywhere inside the motor...

my issue is around getting insurance, and getting legal representation if i did have an incident and my motor was checked, I have ground the 350 off the casing but wondering where else it will be marked if it did come to court...

i am a bit confused as I thought you got wattage by multiplying amps by volts...and where would i get a marking that says 250w, do you know? So many questions...also about insurance and how they would see the system...

That sounds pretty scary...the bike did stop working going up hill under load back in december...I thought it was the battery...what are the sympoms of teh controller being damaged? I have never changed any settings, are you suggesting getting more power assist settings set up?

OK I think I have it sorted, I just spoke to Jimmy at http://www.bga-reworking.co.uk/ and he is getting in a device that works thru usb that can be used to downsize the wattage, he will be sending it to me next week hopefully so my bike will be legal, thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge...

My feeling is that I want to be on the right side of the law so if I do have a collission or an accident I don't have to worry about anything except what has happened which would be upsetting enough without the law being involved, I also want to get the bike insured and they state they won't...
