New ex-electric, soon to be electric, trike project.

No need to use the term “paki”. Not in the 1960’s now, should know better than to use should a racist term.

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

The FIT has been reduced by the government, to the present day that makes it less unattractive. I was fortunate that when we installed the panels, the FIT was reasonable and guaranteed for the next 25 years.

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Range anxiety is not really a problem, batteries are increasing in size, hence mileage. I speak from experience, had a Leaf 24kw battery for over two years. Never run out of energy once. Just requires a little planning if you need to travel longer distances, not difficult really. Just another...

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Is your car economic? Nothing looses value quicker than motor vehicle depreciation. Sure, PW2 is about £6000. But, I still get about £1000 FIT. This year to date we have saved about £500 in electricity that I would have purchased without the PW2. PW2 makes long term sense, won’t have another...

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Requires a massive change in regards to how we consider “fuelling”. Charge points at place of work, car parks, hospitals etc. Anywhere where people visit, that way the cars are charged whilst not in use. Still doesn’t address congestion though.....

In a similar vein to the post directly above. The Tesla Powerwall 2 battery allows you to store the enrgy produced by the solar panels, instead of exporting this energy to the grid. Battery capacity is 14kwh. You still get paid for the Feed in Tariff as well. Attached is the data for this...

The problem with E-bikes in the UK.

Seems as though the thread has been slightly detoured, but I”ll throw my thoughts in. I have had a Nissan Leaf 24kw Tekna for over two years. Driven about 12,000 miles in that time. Let’s get the more contentious issues out of the way. Range, yep about 80 miles. Home charging is great, all...

    eMTB build

Some of the better equipped bike shops have a bottom bracket facing tool. This is primarily usd to ensure that the bottom bracket shell faces are parallel to each other , and sometimes removing excess paint etc. Could be used to trim the one side of the bb shell in this instance with some...

    Hi from the Bearing Man

I haven’t ramped the crap out of any bike I have ever owned. I’m just an ordinary rider, wheels on the ground type. Never broke a frame, never bust a wheel, worst I have had in nearly 55 years of riding is a broken mech hanger.

    Hi from the Bearing Man

For me, this thread shows the real longer term cost of running an Mountain ebike. I had a Bosch powered mountain ebike with the CX performance motor. Fine for the first 500 miles, and then nothing but trouble. Error codes, motor cutting out, plenty of distance help from Bosch UK, but the...

FS: Trek Super Commuter 9+ NuVinci hub

Your opinion, not mine. Will look forward to any for sale posts you make in future. You seem to be the decider on what price should be advertised.

FS: Trek Super Commuter 9+ NuVinci hub

Not a very helpful response really. Someone who might be genuinely wanting to buy the bike will see your response and think they can drive the price down even lower. Wouldn't mind if you sent me a private message, or was considering to buy it yourself. All you have done is harm the sale at...

FS: Trek Super Commuter 9+ NuVinci hub

The bike at £2000 is half the price of a new one. The bike is immaculate. I’m hoping that £2000 is more affordable than £2750. Also the range is very good with just the one battery, and would probably meet most people’s needs. Could negotiate the spare battery if needed. But £2000 is a bargain.

FS: Trek Super Commuter 9+ NuVinci hub

I need to sell this bike so I have lowered the price to £2000 without the spare battery. Thats exactly half the price of a new one, bike is immaculate and wants for nothing.

Thanks, just need to sell the Trek, as the recumbent is very spendy.

    Riese+Muller Delite 2018 Nuvinci Review

Just thought I would add my own comments to the thread. Although I have my Trek Super Commuter 9+ up for sale, will fund my new e recumbent trike purchase. So, I have had the NuVinci 380 hub on the Trek, and ridden about 1800 miles with it. I have also owned a Rohloff hub in the past. The...
