    For Sale Focus Jam2 pricing

Cheers Soundwave, no mention of the mileage there which will probably make quite a difference. I have decided to keep it as the cost of changing far outweighs the cost of keeping it going and I am not getting any younger! Tom

    For Sale Focus Jam2 pricing

Looking at selling my Focus Jam2. It has been great, completely original and virtually trouble free except for the dropper post - which is now operating as it should. Internal battery showing 89%. It is size large and 29" wheels and has the odd bump and scrape. I have the T.E.C. pack and...

    Focus Jam2 motor removal

Erm, advice no longer needed! Noise was from loose rear cassette  Now quiet as a quiet thing.

Focus Jam ² - Nicest eMTB yet?

I realise this is an old thread but I am just about to remove the internal battery and this is very helpful. A couple of questions, do I need to remove the cranks to swing the motor down (I suspect I will need to to access the motor bolts properly) and I am interested to know what cable you were...

    Focus Jam2 motor removal

After 3500 miles the internal battery on my Focus Jam2 has developed an annoying rattle. I have checked the mounting bolts and they are within torque tolerances. I now propose to swing the Shimano motor down to gain access to the internal battery. Can anyone point me towards a video or...

    3000 trouble free miles

I didn't say I lost count, simply I did not count. Conditions vary, I simply replace when they are .5 and I check before lubricating.

    LOL, didn't count. Tom

    3000 trouble free miles

I would just like to post some good news :-) My Focus Jam 2 has just turned 3000 miles in less than 2 years without any issues whatsoever with the Shimano motor, battery or display. Fair wear and tear items such as chains and cassettes have been replaced but otherwise the frame, bearings...

    How Light do you ride.

When I emptied out my Camleback H.A.W.G. I was surprised just how much I take! Most of it is small and stays in the bag all the time for both long and short runs and it is borne out of past experience. Spare tube multi tool tyre pump chain link zip ties emergency blanket first aid kit tyre...

KS dropper post on Jam2 malfunction

Turned out to be the cable, now replaced and working fine.

KS dropper post on Jam2 malfunction

Cheers Soundwave, I have never taken the dropper post out! I assume I release the cable on the handlebars and feed it through just enough to withdraw the post -after the clamp is loosened - and then check the schraeder valve pressure. I'll Google the pressure?

KS dropper post on Jam2 malfunction

The dropper post on my Focus Jam2 has started to "sag" and gradually drop when I am seated. It doesn't do it every time but the activating lever is quite difficult to press and the cable feels tight and I suspect it is not closing properly every time thus allowing air to leak out. The bike is...

    Tyre Pressures with Nobby Nics

I had Continentals and found the same, they seem to go "out of shape". I tend to leave thorns in for the sealant to do it's work but remember, if you gash the tyre and need to put a tube in to get home then any thorns in the carcass will cause problems. The dark patches are of no concern unless...

    Tyre Pressures with Nobby Nics

FWIW I run my 29 er Nobby Nics at 20 front and rear but there are quite a few different specifications of Nobby Nics, some with harder sidewalls, different compounds etc. Best experiment with different pressures and see what suits you best.

Shimano Steps display power take off?

There is no Micro USB connection on the display. I think the only answer may be to use a charging lead from the lighting connection which is beside the motor but there will need to be something to ensure the voltage is correct?

Shimano Steps display power take off?

My Focus has a Shimano display which has two additional "sockets" which I presume are for Di2 and lights on tourers? I use my phone for navigation and on longer rides in remote locations it roams so goes through the battery rather quickly, I am wondering if either of these sockets could be used...

    Giant Evo display fogging up

My phone is IP 68 so it cannot be a lot to ask. Water ingress affects Emtb motors, batteries and switches, most of which are around IP 54 which is quite simply too low for UK use. I hope you get it resolved Dario.

    Giant Evo display fogging up

As a mountain bike, I would venture to suggest it is not "fit for purpose"? Tom

Has anyone dealt with Race Co Cycles?

Yes, bought my Focus Jam 2 from Race Co Cycles though I live in Edinburgh. Their service was good and fuss free and prices good too. In service the bike has behaved well so no need for follow up but reading elsewhere Race Co Cycles seem to go the extra mile which is why I bought from them in the...

    Bike related hacks and bodges

To hold on a brake lever for parking or on a bike rack, cut a band about 20mm wide from an old inner tube and slide one onto each handlebar and when a brake is needed just pull it round the lever. Also useful for expelling air from a brake system by leaving it on overnight.
