30 very happy miles on my new Crossfuse!

I have always had the problem but it is far more frequent than it used to be, sometimes I could go weeks and weeks without a cut out so I put up with it but lately it has been happening almost every day sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row. I don't want to go down the road of sending it away for...

30 very happy miles on my new Crossfuse!

Thanks for the information, I do hate the drag over 17mph on the Crossfire, I just put it down to it being a heavy bike and noticing difference without assistance but if you've seen a big difference on the crossfuse and can maintain higher speeds then I think I'm sold. Only trouble is my bike is...

30 very happy miles on my new Crossfuse!

Crossfire still has torque sensor though, but I can ride slowly (around 7mph) up hills with very little effort although I usually take it to above 15.5mph which can take some effort on the steeper hills. So I’m guessing very little effort on a Bosch crank drive wouldn’t get you far?

30 very happy miles on my new Crossfuse!

Apart from the reliability issues and the more natural feel, how else does it differ from the crossfire? I have a crossfire and have the dreaded cut out problem, so am considering something like a crossfuse, I have only ever ridden the crossfire so don’t know what a crank drive bike feels like...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Also when mine cuts out and I turn it back on with the display button, the bike works but I can't change any of the settings so I am stuck in tour mode. If I remove the display then it is fine until it cuts out again.

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

My battery is the same, straight down to around 93% after a few pedals then OK. I have only covered around 1200 miles. I took my bike in to Halfords on Saturday - they said the company that deals with the electric bike repairs only operate Mon - Friday so they have sent them an email detailing...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

I’ve had my Crossfire e for nearly a year and half and have generally been happy with it. It used could out from time time but was not very often, sometimes going weeks between cut outs. However the past couple of months the cut outs have become more frequent and it now cuts out nearly every...

    Kudos Alamo/ Emu/ Carrera crossfire

I am 47, 6 1" and 14 st I have a crossfire e and couldn't recommend it enough. I find it great for hills. I've had one cut out in 400 miles which wasn't really a problem as I knew you just turn it off and on again. Haven't tried any other bikes so can't compare it to anything. Personally I don't...

Help us build a better Ebike battery

A lot of these tech heads are on the spectrum and are unaware or simply don't care how they come across - they don't go out of their way to offend people but their passion and interests outweigh everything else.

Carrera Crossfire E - first cut out (Sport Mode)

Do you think there is a reason for Suntour changing the climb modes? Its like they don't want you to use a 100% assist on a hill, or is there something different with the torque in climb mode?

Carrera Crossfire E - first cut out (Sport Mode)

Thanks for the comment Fordulike - it wasn't freshly charged or empty, I was coming home from work so think it would have been in the 40-50% region. Maybe it was just one of those things, just a bit strange as I haven't used Sport on hill before. I'll try it again and see what happens.

Carrera Crossfire E - first cut out (Sport Mode)

Hello, I had my first cut out on my 2 month old (160 miles covered) Crossfire the other day. I've checked all the threads on cut out problems and can't find anything specific to my question. I have the revised model with the new LCD (Eco, Tour, Climb, Sport). The cut out happened on a hill I...

    Crossfire Or Kudos Tourer D9

Picked up a new Crossfire about a month ago, gutted as I missed out on the recent sale. So far no issues with cut outs or it turning on etc. but have only covered 60 miles. My 14 mile round trip commute uses around 30% of the battery but I don't sit at 15 mph so don't use the motor the whole time.

Total cost of an ebike, around 45p a mile?

I have fancied an e bike for a while but couldn't justify the price, but my commute to work will take a big change this Autumn when the bridge I ride over to work closes and a new toll bridge opens at a cost of £4 a day for cars, but bikes are free. So I have taken the plunge and got the bike...
