    Swytch Kits

I have 2 of them and I'm fairly happy with them. I had a connection issue with one of the bags and they sent me a new one that works fine. Fitting the PAS sensor on one of the bikes was not easy but I managed to do it with some Suguru. The motor is a little loud but surprisingly powerful for...

    Xiongda front hub problem

Swytch support solved my problem. It was caused by a loose pin connector on the power pack. They sent me a new bag, I transferred all the content (battery, display etc) to that and now everything works perfectly. They were a little slow at getting a first answer, but then everything proceeded...

    Xiongda front hub problem

Update: I think I might have found where my problem originates from. The power pack doesn't fit the harness properly, thus it's able to move around a tiny bit. This movement might be the cause of the connection problem I'm experiencing. I did a quick test with a couple of shimmers to prevent the...

    Xiongda front hub problem

Well...I got a reply, but they suggested to fit a torque arm, even if I told them that I tried that and told them about the battery swap test...now I'm waiting for a second reply

    Xiongda front hub problem

Also I just noticed that my battery pack has a sticker that shows 32km/h on it. Could that be a problem? Maybe the controller does not fit my 25kmh motor or something like that?

    Xiongda front hub problem

I tried that too and my result is the opposite. The problem immediately showed on my wife's bike, while mine was perfect. Maybe it's all about some faulty connections. Mine might be inside the pack, maybe others' might be on the harness itself?

    Xiongda front hub problem

I tried fitting one of the washers inside and fitting the torque arm. At first everything seemed ok, but after a few km it started again. As soon as it stops raining I will try and swap the battery and the harness with the working kit and see what happens.

    Xiongda front hub problem

Washers inboard do you mean fitting the torque washers inside the fork? Or fitting one more? I will double check all the connections and try to make a video. Thank you for your help

    Xiongda front hub problem

I have 2 Swytch kits and one of them is giving me trouble. The motor makes a loud clunky noise and stutters. I tested it with the bike on a stand and it works perfectly, at every power level, but as soon as I try it on the road the problem shows. Since the motor is fine when on the stand I guess...

Last chance to order the Swytch complete eBike kit for £225

At level 5 my wife rides at 10mph with no leg power at all. She has to put some effort only if she wants to have faster than that.

Last chance to order the Swytch complete eBike kit for £225

That's not my experience. My wife did 20+ miles using a little less than 40% of the battery. It was flat roads and level 5/6. So 50 miles is definitely possible on those conditions. Of course I never expected to get 50 miles at full power and full speed.

Last chance to order the Swytch complete eBike kit for £225

Me and my wife went for a test ride of her newly converted bike. We wanted to try it on the fairly steep hill that brings us to our future home. The test went very well indeed! We managed to climb at relatively high speed (around 15km/h) pretty much all the way up. When we were on the steepest...

Last chance to order the Swytch complete eBike kit for £225

I also got two kits. I managed to fit the first one on my wife's bike quite easily. We had the chance to try it only for a few miles, but first impressions are mostly good. The other one is for my old road bike and I'm still struggling fitting the PAS magnets on to the hollowtech BB.

    New BMC

BMC came out with a new ebike. https://www.bmc-switzerland.com/int-en/alpenchallenge-amp-city/ The "One" version costs 3999€. It's a lot, but for BMC's standards and considering that it's a full carbon bike it's a somewhat fair price.

    Orbea Gain

Good point. The (maybe) good thing is that the motor+battery are provided by ebikemotion, who are selling the combo to other companies as well. If one of the companies that uses the battery abandon it maybe you can still get spare parts from another one. On the other hand if it's ebikemotion...

    Orbea Gain

I recently noticed the Orbea Gain bikes. In particular I like the Urban range. It really seems to be a great option for city and medium-short range commuting. Does anybody own one? There isn't much user information about them.

    Riese & Muller Tinker City

On flat terrain they are both overkill. Once again the main differences are: -the Winora has a bigger battery -The R&M has a front suspension -The R&M has a better light everything else is identical or very similar.

    Riese & Muller Tinker City

Winora is probably the biggest ebike manufacturer in europe (same group as Haibike). Orbea is a 150+ years old brand from Spain. It is a very well known brand in bicycle world. The R&M does offer a bit more (front suspension, better front light, belt drive etc.) but overall they are all very...
