More grist for the mill. Thanks Rob. " Mechanical empathy" will be employed which ever transmission I choose. The Rohloff sounds good.

    Riese and Muller sizing

Rob, thanks for the response. I read your review of your Charger GX with interest. This is the bike I may order if I find the used Delite is too small. I am battling with the gearing choice however. You have a Rohloff. Being so far from any sort of bike shop I nervous about getting such a...

Thanks for the replys. I emailed R&M to get a diagram of their frame geometry to compare with my Koga Traveller. Hopefully I will be able to work it out.

A near new Delte is available at a reasonable price. No months of waiting for a new one. The only problem is it 14 hours drive from where I live. The nearest dealer to test ride a R and M is 7 hours away and they only have mediums as well. This presents a problem. Will a Medium Delite fit a...

A trekking mtb. Do they exist?

Australia has a 10% consumption tax. It has to be paid before release from customs. I will check on the import duty. It is very frustrating to hear of all the good bikes available in Europe and not having them available here.

I just got an email from ktm hq saying they don't export their e bikes to Australia any more. Austria to Australia. What's the problem? It got me thinking. Anyone know of a bike shop in the UK that freights to Australia? No VAT would help pay the freight maybe.

A trekking mtb. Do they exist?

Wow, thanks for all the replys. I'm very glad I asked people who know stuff from experience. I use Orbleib panniers now, front and back. I have used them on many multiday trips on my Koga. Took it to Vietnam and Cambodia recently. I like the look of the KTM hardtails. I will try to find a...

A trekking mtb. Do they exist?

Thanks Mac. I take your point about advise. It is difficult. Presently I ride daily for an hour. With longer rides on the weekend. And I'm happy to spend what it takes, within reason. I suspect a full suspension bike would be very comfortable, but impracticable for panniers. I like your...

A trekking mtb. Do they exist?

I am a long way from a bike shop. Seven hours by car. I have been riding a Koga Traveller for many years but am moving to a rather hilly rural area and am looking at switching to an e bike. I like the trekking bike style but would also like to be able to explore some of the logging tracks and...

    Switched to kalkhoff

I was very interested in reading your review Robbieg. Thank you. The Integrale is on my short list for a new bike. Have you any experience riding it on gravel roads or forest trails? I am after a bike that is comfortable for long rides on the black top but can take the path less traveled as...
