    Anyone tried Speedbox B-tuning dongle?

The ‘magnet on the back of pedal’ method has worked absolutely fine for me on my Bosch Active Line Plus. No errors whatsoever! My bike is a Carrera Crossfuse with the Purion controller.

    Anyone tried Speedbox B-tuning dongle?

In which case, there’s no point me spending £200 for an all singing all dancing tuning device (such as a Speedbox-B) which can be switched ‘on the fly’. I will just stick to my magnet on the back of my pedal and the sensor relocated.

    Anyone tried Speedbox B-tuning dongle?

@wissock said the same. Without having checked the legislation, I will take your word for it. Shame, as that would have been ideal to be able to ‘switch’ between legal and de-restricted.

    Anyone tried Speedbox B-tuning dongle?

Glad I found this thread. I’ve been looking at different options for de-restricting my ebike but want something where I can easily switch between being de-restricted and legal. This appears to tick all the boxes and I particularly like the fact that when you first turn the power on, the...

Carrera Crossfuse (Active Line Plus) struggling with hills

I’m pushing quite hard and yes, it definitely does have to be in a low gear. I’ve not heard about the delivering 3 x what you put in before? If that’s the case, that only makes me lean even more towards the possibility of my motor underperforming.

Carrera Crossfuse (Active Line Plus) struggling with hills

Thanks for the responses. @Amoto65 I agree the Bosch is clearly the superior ‘quality’ motor but did you find the Crossfire considerably better on inclines? My Mrs, who is a rubbish cyclist and usually doesn’t go anywhere near as fast as me, simply cruises past me up hills. Surely the Bosch...

Carrera Crossfuse (Active Line Plus) struggling with hills

Having exchanged my Carrera Crossfire (Suntour HEC motor) for a Crossfuse (Bosch Active Line Plus motor), I was disappointed to find that it has nowhere near as much ‘pull’ up hills. My missus still has a Crossfire so I have done direct comparisons. The Crossfuse seriously lacks power compared...

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

I also can't seem to do anything with any other buttons/combinations from the CABB/CABA 28.0 screen. The DAT CLR screen sounds promising though! I would assume the wheel size can only be set on the initial 'factory' set up. I read something to that effect in a 2014 Suntour HESC manual. If you...

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

Anyone know what this is? Got this screen up by holding '+' and 'info' buttons simultaneously (if my memory serves me correctly). One is from my bike, the other from my girlfriends.

    Halfords Carrera Crossfire E question

I've recently bought a Crossfire-e on cycle2work scheme and Halfords did it for £990 as I mentioned it had only recently been on sale. They also gave me an extra 10% off as a gesture of good will! I've just ordered the female version for my missus (NOT through cycle2work) and they've agreed to...

tried halfords vulcan mtb and crossfire ebikes today

Halfords have agreed to do the female version for my missus for £881 (£990 minus 10%). I sweet talked the female assistant manager originally when buying mine but she had to go the the manager and he ultimately agreed the price. I spoke to the manager directly yesterday and he agreed to do the...

tried halfords vulcan mtb and crossfire ebikes today

In all honesty I simply mentioned that I saw it had been sold for less recently and they straight away said they would do it for £990 PLUS they had already agreed to give me a further 10% off the entire sale (inc. accessories). I may well be getting the female version for the missus in the...

    Delimit Carrera Crossfire E

Whilst I appreciate that anything above the standard (legal) speeds will decrease battery life exponentially, I can't help but think that just an extra 3-4mph would be so beneficial for my commute and the overall feel of the ride. I genuinely hope that someone comes up with an answer to get...

tried halfords vulcan mtb and crossfire ebikes today

Thanks footpump and egroover for your input. footpump - what cycle2work discount are you referring to? I've tried all my local Halfords and none of them have a suitable sized Vulcan for me to try. They've offered the Crossfire for £990 (which was them effectively price matching their own price...

tried halfords vulcan mtb and crossfire ebikes today

I was just about to pull the trigger on a Crossfire-e today and the sales assistant asked if I'd seen the Vulcan yet... He wasn't very knowledgeable about either bike so couldn't advise me but I did hold off on the purchase to give me time to compare the two. I will be using the bike mainly...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Thanks for the info, Woosh. I didn't think it did as I remember from my test ride, when I was stopping for lights and trying to shift down gears as I slowed, I was fighting against the motor!

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Price is certainly very attractive! My local Halfords have agreed to do it for £990! Another thing I am struggling to find a definitive answer for is whether it has hydraulic brake cut off/cut out? Surely this is a must for safety reasons?
