    Northern Ireland EAPC status.

From the new Infrastructure minister this morning : “I want to go further under my tenure to transform people’s lives because for me infrastructure is not just the Department of Roads, it is about how we can use that Department to help people to improve their lives, so for example getting more...

    Northern Ireland EAPC status.

Nichola Mallon is the new infrastructure minister so it's her responsibility to sign off the legislation, may be good to contact her or Colm Eastwood. I think for infrastructure it's a no brainer to get traffic off the roads, increase air quality and add extra parking without spending any budget.

    Northern Ireland EAPC status.

Good job Ted, I know the greens were vocal about this before issue before and this is why I wrote to them.and it's a quick win taking traffic off the road, freeing up parking spaces, improving air quality and getting people fitter. I imagine local bike dealers will be applying pressure too as...

    Northern Ireland EAPC status.

I've just written to the Green Party and asked if they could look at getting this signed and moved on in line with the rest of the UK.

Gotta wait to see who takes up the ministers post and get onto them or their party to push it through. Is this the infrastructure minister who is responsible for revising this? I know our organisation purchased a number of ebikes to trial with staff previously to get them to cycle to work but...

    Northern Ireland EAPC status.

Hi guys, seeing today's news about stormont getting back together again, I wonder how long before the ebike legislation gets revised and we can get back on our bikes again? I realise this is going to be way down the pecking order for things to resolve but I'm hoping with a dedicated minister in...

    Green Edge CS2 controller question

Hi all Can any CS2 owners please tell me what the function of holding down the + button does? A little icon appears on the top right of the display, looks a bit like a headlight beam. Does anyone know what this is?

Does this look like an e-bike in this video? It looks like cables feeding down to the bike from the bag at the back, if so, aren't motorbike helmets compulsory for ebikes in Northern Ireland? Soooo frustrated my e-bike is still in the shed for over a year now.

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

I asked the Foyle PSNI about using ebikes in the city and referenced the letter from the chief constable allowing officers to use discretion, although I didn't have the letter to hand, the response was that it wasn't down to the chief constable to allow officers to use discretion and that the...

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

Thanks for trying Ted, i was thinking of just getting bike insurance so i can get back out on my ebike again, the back of my license shows im allowed to drive mopeds and motorbikes as i have my driving license since the 90s. Has anyone gone through with getting insurance on their ebike and if so...

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

I'm in Derry too and I've parked my ebike up as well, I was enjoying commuting to work on it, especially up the Crescent Link in a headwind whilst everyone else is stuck in the queue of traffic! We had a scheme at work where you could borrow an ebike for a week to see how you managed, this was...

Registering an ebike in Northern Ireland

Personally I've already written to two MPs and had no reply, this isn't something that will interest them until the wider public get involved. They are motivated enough to call round your home on election time but won't give you the time of day outside of that. Good to see the greens and...

Registering an ebike in Northern Ireland

True, I bought an ebike recently to commute to work at a busy hospital where parking for the patients is at a premium. I have to take the car to get to work now thereby using up a parking space every day for someone else who needs it more than I do. More traffic on the road, more pollution, less...

Registering an ebike in Northern Ireland

There is a bit of momentum building in the local media in Northern Ireland over the past few days regarding this law, being driven by the BBC'S Nolan Show who have run a feature on it this past 2 days and local parties such as the Greens and Alliance. Nolan show facebook page sent their...

Registering an ebike in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland was under direct rule from October 2002 until the spring of 2007. So not sure how this was implemented at the time.

Registering an ebike in Northern Ireland

Technically you can be taken for driving an unregistered vehicle without tax and insurance. I need my license for my job and I see from earlier postings that one cyclist was stopped on the road in northern ireland for cycling an ebike. I doubt any politician cares about this issue but I've...

Registering an ebike in Northern Ireland

Hi all, I have an ebike which I have been cycling to commute to work oblivious to the fact an ebike needs to be registered, taxed, insured and motorbike helmet worn when cycling in Northern Ireland. There is some debate that European law overrides the northern irish legislation regarding ebike...
