    Intuvia 100

Hi Guys Anyone familiar with this unit which is on my wife's new Gazelle Grenoble? Simple question caused by my reluctance to break anything. She is unable to remove the unit (security) as it is pretty firmly mounted. I understood it was a twist and turn but that doesn't work. Any opinions would...

    ebike insurance for conversions

Yes we have policy documents which state the level of third party cover and legal protection we have with them. The offer of optional cycle (theft) insurance was declined as we already have it elsewhere. We took out this cover from strong advice given to us at the time of the Stormont “moped”...

    Recovery service.

We use Cycling UK and ironically have just paid next year's cover at what might be seen as an expensive £33 each but the cover is good IMO in this "compo manic" part of the UK. As for taxi assistance, when I researched the recovery issue a while back I was unable to find any company here (and...

    Recovery service.

Hi Tommy, good to hear from you. We were totally unaware of this service so I have no real info on details. It would seem that the service has been running for 30 years so they would have little to learn which is good. I was actually surprised to learn that they cover this broken backwater...

    Recovery service.

Good morning folks. Hopefully some of you guys will remember us from the "moped" fiasco we had a while back and we are thankful for the support we received at the time from you all. We are still active and I am well pleased with my new Gazelle C380 Ultimate. This may well not be of interest to...

    Tyre pressures

Hmm. Both bikes parked outside in hot sun for an hour, inflated to the usual 65 psi and when ready to go we saw that the front on the Raleigh Centros was flat. Same Schwalbe tyres on both bikes with Kenda tubes on the Raleigh from new. Wheel off and tube inspection to find a 3 inch gash in it...

    Tyre pressures

I know it will never be everybody's cup of tea but as an ex engineer in a past life I can spot quality, and this bike has oodles of it.

    Tyre pressures

Thank you as always. I suspected it would be a balance but if you are introducing "luck" into this, well ☹ Edit. Not used to these tyres at all but grip is excellent to date. The centre strip of "blocks" are down 50% on the rest of the block pattern, which at 60psi never touch the ground. Any...

    Tyre pressures

Been using Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour 700 x35 on my Gazelle Ultimate having used them previously on my Volt Infinity. Now in total they are on 1400 miles but showing wear in the centre 12mm only, presumably due to my insistence on running at 65psi. I am tempted to lower the pressure to 40ish to...

    Bosch motors

Those two are noticeably different but the performance line motors look the same and no obvious way to tell which is 65 and which is 75 - to the untrained eye. I was optimistically thinking about some plate signifying which power unit it was otherwise how does one ever know. With my physical...

Voltbike Pulse with Bafang hub motor derestrict help

My wife's Volt Pulse 2015 - 2022 had a Spin Tech motor - AKA Bafang??

    Bike Stands

Used a Dirty Pro stand via Amazon at a ridiculously cheap price (£30ish). It never failed me and held my Infinity without issue. Sadly I can't find it available and I knew it wouldn't last at that price.

    Bosch motors

I am currently as flexible as a tree so a change to a step through was necessary and the excellent Infinity is going :( Not everyone's taste but the Gazelle Ultimate C380 ticked all my boxes. Not in stock so had to be ordered but I specified it to have the 75nm motor and 625 battery and that...

    Bosch motors

Is there an identification mark / plate on 2023 Bosch motors denoting whether it is 65nm or 75nm? Changing my bike and need the 75nm motor but how can I be sure? Thanks Ted.

    Cube Kathmandu Equivalents

Next bike. Gazelle C380 Enviolo hub gears. Belt drive. Local shop has a selection but not the hub gear model. After the excellent Infinity I would miss this type of gear option. C380 on back order and he is confident. Went off the Kathmandu because of uncertainty with delivery.

    Highway code changes

    1. The buffoons on the Hill couldn't set a table for dinner for four people without bickering about the positioning of the soup spoons. 2. Under review here means a lengthy debate similar to the fiasco they dug themselves into a few years ago. It was "ratified" only after me wearing one...

    Highway code changes

My apologies if this is already known but the newly announced laws being discussed do not apply in Northern Ireland UK. Don't ask.

    Internal hub gears

Used derailleur systems since 1960. However first time I tried the Volt Infinity when I bought it five years ago I found the Alfine rear hub system a revelation. As stated a second of pedal pressure easing during changes is beneficial. The ability to manually change at a standstill is excellent...

    Hello everyone. Retired teacher her

Well my bike is back from the Shimano specialist 109 miles ago. When I left it I suggested that perhaps it would be an idea to remove the original allen male / female 1/4" securing bolt system then ream out the holes to 5/16" for a proper hex nut and bolt set to go straight through the plates...
