    Storing bike for winter

Before the really bad weather arrives I’m considering what to do with the bike over winter particularly with regard to the chain. In the past I’ve done a complete clean/maintenance job on the bike but on the odd occasion come Spring I noticed the chain had some tight links, usually from around...

    Half twist throttle problem

To help my aging thumb I decided to swap the existing thumb throttle on my Oxygen MTB to a Half Twist version. Installtiion was easy, simply removed hand grip and fitted the new throttle, disconnected the original throttle connector (a Julet version) and connected the new one, also a Julet...

Cyclotricity Crank Drive BEAST 250W/500W Electric Mountain Bike

Hi All Has anyone got/had or tested one of the above bikes? I'm looking for opinions, reviews do's and don't's before I contact them. I understand the above model comes with the motor set at 250W, I'm not looking for any more to keep within the UK regs. I've read so many conflicting reviews on...

    Unemployed in the 1960's question

Does anyone know if an unemployed teenager in the mid 1960's was paid National Assistance (dole money)? If they did get paid, approx how much was it per week/month and how was it paid to them ? e.g. By Postal Order or straight into a bank or Post Office account.

    Computer chair

It might be due to lockdown and self-isolating, but I find myself working on the pc more than ever . Currently, I'm using a dining chair with an extra cushion for height, but not for long before it starts me shifting around. Can anyone recommend a really comfortable office/desk/computer type...

Is it possible to extend the cable between the LCD and On/Off switch?

I’m hoping to extend the cable that connects the LCD to the On/Off switch on my Oxygen S-Cross MTB (Mk1), so the On/Off switch can be sited nearer to my thumb whilst still gripping the bars. Currently the cable is at full stretch when the LCD is central on the bars, making the On/Off panel about...

    Oxygen MTB handlebar swap

Due to deterioration in health earlier this year, riding the Oxygen with the original 720mm straight bars was becoming very uncomfortable with wrist, elbow, shoulder and neck pains, so after reading reviews on comfort style bars I opted for the On-One Geoff version. After a couple of rides...

    On-One Mary Handlebars

I've searched through the forum and found a few reviews on the above bars from some time ago. Does anyone still use them and what are you feelings toward them - good and bad. If anyone has them fitted to an Oxygen MTB, can you fit all the levers etc to the bars without having to over-stretch...

    Julet extension cables

In the process of changing the handlebars on my Oxygen MTB for On-One Geoff version I've realised the brake lever sensor cables (2 pin) and the throttle cable (3 pin) are going to be on the tight side. Can anyone recommend a supplier of the Julet connector type cables ideally approx 10 - 25 cm long?

    Oxygen S-Cross MTB chain query.

Can anyone please confirm the total number of chain links for the above mentioned bike, when fitted to the bike, including/excluding the link. Mine snapped the other day and I'm not sure if I managed to gather all the bits up. TIA

Headset Bearings and Forks for Oxygen MTB

Recently did a small upgrade on my Oxygen MTB as per title. Before starting I contacted Oxygen for the bearing/sizes, got the sizes but they didn’t have them in stock ATM and after dismantling the forks used a Vernier to double check everything then did some research on the baffling subject of...

Oxygen MTB annoying rattle – fix.

After weeks of gentle riding over gnarly bridle paths, pot-hole ridden tarmac and searching, checking and testing every component for an annoying rattle – it came down to a small amount of rotational play of the battery when fitted to the frame. It was only about 0.007” each way and the battery...

    Motor cutting out.

Hi guys, a little help required please. Twice recently on my Oxygen S-Cross MTB (13Ah) the motor has cut-out whilst climbing a steep hill, even the throttle didn’t work. Only 6 months old and 100 miles on the ODO. The only way to get moving again was to turn it off then switch on again. The...

Selling a used ebike, what are the pitfalls.

What would you insist on/expect to find when buying a used ebike? Apart from the usual, cleaning, polishing, lubing, tyre pressures etc, what other essential things would you do to your ebike before advertising it for sale?
