    Kalkhoff pro connect S

I still have one of the original 2008 Pro Connect S bikes. It assists to about 21mph. I also have a 36v 2014 model that assists to about 24mph and is a lot more powerful than the older 26v bike. Both have the excellent Panasonic motors.

Wanted Kalkhoff Panasonic 36v Bike or Battery

Hi, I’m looking for a 2012 to 2014 Panasonic powered bike or battery. It’s the rarer 36v model I’m looking for and would be interested in either a complete bike or just the battery. The Swiss Flyer of around the same years uses the same motor and battery so I would also be interested in one of...

Urgent help please with rattling Kalkhoff battery.

I know this was asked some time ago but this may help others with the same problem. I used double sided tape to stick a 1mm piece of shim plastic about 6 x 12mm in size where the lock latches. This got rid of the play. I also wrap a narrow Velcro strap round the battery for extra support.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Happy Christmas to all the regular contributors to this thread. I look in every day and have learned a lot and been amused a lot! Being a Scottish Nationalist and pro remain, I do worry for the future though.

    Chain wear?

Hi Bear, The 11 speed and 8 speed have the same 11t high gear and I would be surprised if a 34t low gear wouldn’t be sufficient on most electric bikes. Still I guess the larger steps between the gears wouldn’t suit everyone.

    Chain wear?

If your not doing off road riding, you could consider converting to an 8 speed. I did it on my 10 speed Pro Connect. Being a stronger chain, it lasts longer and is much cheaper to replace. I’ve always found the 8 speed to be easier to set up too and perfect for commuting.

    Ten years with Kalkhoff Panasonic

Glad to hear your still enjoying your Oxygen EMate George. From the posts I’ve read on the forum it’s a very good bike. For years I thought my 2008 Kalkhoff had plenty of oomph but I had nothing to compare it to. I found it a big step up in power when I acquired the 36v version. If I remember...

    Ten years with Kalkhoff Panasonic

As Flecc has said previously it was probably a cost cutting exercise which badly backfired. The 36v Panasonic motor is superb. I went for a quick ride on my old 26v bike, to keep it turning over, and it felt very limp as I’m used to the fast and powerful 36v motor.

    Ten years with Kalkhoff Panasonic

Shortly after I joined this forum in 2007, Kalkhoff launched their Pro Connect and Agattu models which quickly became very popular with forum members. When the S version came out in 2008 I took the plunge and ordered one at £1900. It was a lot of money for me but the day I ordered it I decided...

    Tmars Sp-475 Seatpost

Has anyone tried one of these seat posts? They look similar to the popular Suntour SP12 but have a bit less travel and are a fair bit lighter. I can’t find any reviews anywhere.

E-Zee Riders - The UK’s first Land’s End to John O’Groats electric bike holiday specialists....

I just had a look at your E-Zee Riders website and am very impressed. I've been thinking about doing Lejog on my ebike for about 8 years but it's not easy to find someone to do it with and up to now, there has only been supported road bike tours available. Doing this iconic trip on an...

Did I buy the right size bike?

Providing the stand over height is comfortable, it’s a cheap fix to change the stem and bars to get your ideal stance.

Strange Problem with 2 week old 705SE - 30 miles on the clock.

There seems to have been bit of miscommunication but hopefully you’Il get back on the road soon Anthony. There are a number of very helpful dealers on here and in my experience, on this forum, David and Wisper are right at the top when it comes to after sales service.

    Kalkhoff Pro Connect 2008 model

Although the standard pro connect had cable brakes, my 2008 S model came with Magura HS 33 hydraulic rim brakes. Kalkhoff probably thought that the bike needed them with the increased motor assistance.

Recommend a tiny pump with gauge?

The Lezyne Pressure Drive is small enough to fit in a tool bottle. There’s no gauge but it looks well made and the attachment hose makes it easier to use than pumps that fit directly on to the valve.

    36v Panasonic Motor

Despite owning two pedelecs I recently purchased a Kalkhoff Pro Connect S. It was the last of the Panasonic powered Pro Connects ever made and has the 350w 36v motor. I'll maybe write a review when I've finished tinkering with it but I have a chance of buying a spare motor at a very good price...
