    What battery? (to replace swytch)

I have one of them, which I stopped using. The battery inside is nothing I ever saw as 'standard' although you can probably have one custom built to fit, maybe £250+ ish ........

How to derestrict a Boost conversion kit?

Well forum rules, that everyone has apparently agreed to say; "You agree to not use the Service to submit or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, spam or spam-like, likely to offend, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of...

Help! Suggestions for small folding ebike

My own folding bike, a Brompton, is actually easier to carry up stairs when unfolded. You hook the saddle nose over you shoulder and its no problem at all to walk up stairs.

    Brompton conversion kit

You could try a standard 36V battery, the bag adapter on the front block is likely only two wires, + and - However its possible the Nano controller is looking for the temperature sensor that is inside the Bosch batteries. It might do this in order to cut off the power if the battery starts to...

    Brompton conversion kit

The adapter is very likely unique to Nano, so they are probably the only source for a spare batterybag\adapter. Odd for there to be no battery bag with the bike ?

    Mobile tool kit

Why even mention it ? Who is daft enough to have a 'toolkit' for a bike, that they have not checked does fit the nuts, bolts and screws used ?

    Mobile tool kit

I did build a 'cheap' toolkit for eBrompton, here is the writeup Individual tools. You can build up a kit of the needed tools, but to get the weight close to the Tern setup (209g) you will need to use a 15mm Titanium wrench, see below. A 1.5mm allen key is needed for the grub screw that...

    Mobile tool kit

For my Brompton, I have most all of the tools I need in a teensy bag underneath the rear of the saddle. Of the multitools I have looked at the Tern Multitool was the one that covered the most; https://www.ternbicycles.com/uk/accessories/472/tern-tool The 15mm spanner is good enough for the...

De restrict for off road use

Indeed, its possible of course that 'Police Scotland' found something about the bike that required the rider to have had a licence and insurance, so a serious offence maybe.

"Brompton weighs in on better battery laws to clamp down on eBike fires "

Its sounds highly unlikley that no-one is allowed to climb a ladder beyond 12ft without scafolding. There might well be some circumstances when those in emplyment have to errect scafolding.

    Folding bikes

Yep, had one of them. Used to use it for walks annd kayaking trips in the 80s when the was only two of us and one car. Stash it at the end of the trip and then use it to cycle back to the start to pick up the car.

    Folding bikes

As memory serves, when I first road a Brompton, it just seemd normal. But then I was able to ride a unicycle for a couple of miles back then.

Do you mean the one with the shock absorbing handlebars ? If so I had one of those, if you hit a small obstacle or pothole the handlebars would shift forwards to compensate ................

"Police stat shows that 260 electric powered bicycles were seized by officers last year"

For that would be the case. But without such clauses in existing laws, ministerial announcements should have no legal effect.

"Police stat shows that 260 electric powered bicycles were seized by officers last year"

Ah, IC, its to 500W, my mistake. So in this case, why cannot a minister just write a letter and in effect change the law ?
