Reliable, no really RELIABLE High End E-Bike Recommendations?

A Nine Continent motor with Infineon base controller from ebikes.ca is very reliable (direct drive motor has very little to go wrong), very efficient, can easily cruse at 32kph and backup from this supplier is second to none.

    Could there be a problem?

A plug-in power meter is useful to see how much energy has gone into your battery and at what rate.

Are some cycle routes 'Off Road'?

..and outlawed in existing legislation too :(

    Which bike for off-road?

This is true, and using no throttle will give you the best range :D But seriously, using less throttle on a hill can help range for two reasons if you are pedalling. The proportion of human input is increased, plus the motor can be run at an efficient rpm. Without significant rider input...

    ebike copies

That frame and down tube look nothing like a Wisper, unlike the clones we're seen.

    ebike copies

GT have a distinctive frame which, I understand, is protected by copyright. I don't think that distinction is for functional reasons but it does differentiate the brand which could be important for marketing. The Wisper 905 has a distinctively curved down tube, not seen, to my knowledge, on...

Wisper rear rack - securing bolts?

Yes, that's the stuff you need. You won't have to keep checking them once you have put some on the threads.

    Which bike for off-road?

If you lower the gearing, you lower the speed and increase the torque. If Powacycles can climb well then this indicates that they have high torque. Lowering the battery voltage has the same effect as using less throttle and certainly won't improve hill climbing. So there is no real advantage...

    Which bike for off-road?

One of the issues to test is how the electrical components stand up to off-road use (abuse), so these should ideally be all standard, i.e. no extra support for batteries or connections.

Part Charge or Full charge? The Jury's Out!

The BMS needs to protect the cells when charging too. If it doesn't do this so well then fewer charges could be better. As the BMS will vary from suppliers and from year to year, it makes them difficult to compare. NB crossed with posts above

    Change in e-bike legislation

About 5p. It is the cost of the bike and in particular the battery (which doesn't last as long) that is the major part. Electricity costs are almost negligible.

    Change in e-bike legislation

I agree with that. Keeping the existing limits and adding a new class would seem to be the best of both worlds. I would have no objection to paying insurance etc. I assume that a motorbike helmet would be needed too? Not sure if there are any suitable for summer use on a pushbike though (no...

electric bike conversion kit on ebay

It's hard to say without trying it out. A 3 wire system means there is less to go wrong. The Cytronex/Tongxin are 3 wire too.

electric bike conversion kit on ebay

OK. 3 wires go from the speed controller to the motor. These provides the power. Usually there are sensors in the motor which tell the controller the current position of the motor. 5 wires are needed for this. An alternative approach is to use the same 3 wires for position information, but...

electric bike conversion kit on ebay

It means there are no hall sensors, so just 3 wires to the motor rather than 8. The down side is usually that a standing start is not so smooth.

electric bike conversion kit on ebay

Looks like a decent kit for the price, assuming the battery is OK. I bought a cheap folding bike (not electric) from them and was pleased with the quality.

Alien conversion on a Peugot ladies tourer

This is very important, but the picture on this and your next post seem to show the torque washer protruding through to the other side of the dropout. Although useful, torque washers only provide a small additional insurance against motor spinout, it is the friction provided by the nuts that...

    Fastest climber?

This uses a Tongxin motor which is geared. The Bafang motors are quite powerful and considered legal by suppliers such as Wisper and Alien. For very steep hills, that is probably true.

    Fastest climber?

The other thing about the Panasonic system, if I understand it correctly, is that it matches your power input (up to 1.3 times?) so you may never get even 200W from it. On the other hand you could get a peak of around 400W from a legal hub motor when climbing.

    Folded tyres delivered

I have had tyres arrive folded into a figure eight before and they have bounced out OK so this may be normal practice. The Marathon Plus may not be suited to that treatment due to their more rigid design.
