I had the Focus Jarifa MTB with the impulse motor in 2015 and it was great for four months until the motor went bang,i had to have two motors replaced in eighteen months. The latest Impulse motor is supposed to be more reliable so you could be okay.

Now on ebay with a new 17,7ah 30Q battery and upgraded wheels.

I had the same battery as the OP a few years ago on the panasonic motor Kalkhoff,in two years of owning the bike two batteries had to be replaced because of the same problem as the OP.The panasonic motor was ultra reliable but the batteries not so and they were well looked after.

Now at £1300,absolute bargain.
