Larger chainring for Cube Acid Hybrid 500

You can do that - just be mindful of the chain line https://www.parktool.com/en-int/blog/repair-help/chainline-concepts When I setup I know that I am more likely to be at the bottom end of the rear sprocket so I look for my chain line to reflect that (aka space the front sprocket out from the...

Larger chainring for Cube Acid Hybrid 500

Hey hey - something like https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/products/kmc-bosch-gen-3-44t-chainring-3mm-offset might fit.. Mine did hit the frame while mountain biking (bottoming out on a log roll) so I've switched it back for 'pure' MTB. Worked great as a commuter though!

    Bosch motor run-out

Hi all - managed to smack up my chain ring rather well on my Cube Acid at the weekend. Pre-pandemic I'd set it up perfectly for commuting and had replaced the 38T with a 46T which matched my leg power and just took me outside of the 15mph band, however over the last year I've been thrashing it...

    Help! Specialized Swych Conversion

I'm looking at your bike https://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/product/11255/2018-women-s-diverge-e5-comp/ and it seems to be through-axle design so I think its going to be unlikely.. your options would be to get a clunker to pair with the Swytch and trailer and save your Specialized or to...

Gonna throw this up there as I *think* that my Cube (Bosch) has a similar noise..

    Bloke builds a Chinese ebike

Love the finish, bike looks ok but I'd be hard-pressed to justify £4k on a bike let alone some of the bikes he wants to emulate.... Interesting watch though and the follow-up video shows it being spanked a bit with no frame cracking..

    Brexit Rant...

Gahh!!!!!! I just ordered my daughter a new helmet as she took a spill on her bike while out mountain biking in the forest. Cheapest was Holland Bike Shop which worked out to be about £142 plus shipping... back of my mind was "thats under £150 so it will be fine.." Just been landed with a...

Review ADO A20 review for 150kg fat b'stards.

Well done fella! If you keep it up then you will find that (due to a high starting weight) that your weight will drop like a proverbial stone... this will put less stress on the components and your knees ;-P Keep your legs spinning; a small amount of input from you will reduce the load on the...

Bike seat for long commute ?

Big fan of Fabric seats - https://fabric.cc/products/saddles/cell-elite-radius-155mm-saddle/ is what I have fitted and its dead comfy. Agree with @sjpt that getting your bike position right is probably going to be the biggest (and cheapest) improvement you can make ;-)

Good (uk) sub £1800 E-bike recommendations?

Very happy owner of a Cube Acid One here; well over 1,500 miles under the tyres and the battery and motor have both held up well. On my 2nd drivetrain and close to needing a 3rd but that should be expected. Based on forum feedback and presence I would suggest taking a hard look at Whisper bikes...

Crank Removal - Bosch Active Line

Hey Matt - that looks like the right tool (on my phone) to remove the cranks. Take out the centre of a crank with a Allen key and then insert and screw in the black end into the thread. then you can use the silver end with a spanner to push the crank off the spindle. might help

Anyone changed the front chainring - Cube Reaction Pro?

Take a look at https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/cube-acid-400-chainring-upgrade.34673/ where I swap out the front chainring on a Cube Acid One. Cant see it being that different.. I went with 46t and changed to a 1x11 setup on the rear at the same time. Now 1,500 miles in and its still...

    Cracked Head

It can't be a crack as that would be a longitudinal crack in a tube; the stresses required to essentially crack the steel there (noting that its quite some distance from the weld) would be pretty impressive. Ally just doesn't crack that way.. be interested to hear what the outcome was.
