    500 miles done!

Thanks MS, I'm using a shwalbe big apple on the rear 2.00 x 26 they are great tyres, loads of grip and puncture resistant, also good for the extra weight I'm now carrying.

    500 miles done!

Hi all, Well thanks for all the replies, my route to work is very open rolling country side with plenty of view of the road ahead, you are right about the stopping distances, you need to think ahead and start planning to stop way before you need to, I also find it helpful to assume every driver...

    500 miles done!

Hi sorry wasn't aware of the standard being on the flat, I can definitely achieve 30mph on the flat maybe even 32/33 with a full charge and yes it was down hill that I hit 37mph, again I think with a full charge I could hit 40mph, problem is I can only pedal up to maybe 33 before I run out of...

    500 miles done!

Hi all, Just thought I would share my happiness at reaching my first 500 miles on my homebuilt electric bike, I have been commuting to work almost every day since finishing it and I don't plan to look back, in fact I'm already planning my next build which will include improvements such as...

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

I'm also far too old to be a yob but the occasional wheelie wont hurt anyone! :) If it does turn out to be dangerous to ride then I will have to move to a new frame sooner than expected, but I've ridden some insane bucking bronco motorcycles in my time, so I can take a fair amount of instability...

Now this is a light weight bike to add a motor to

Wow I love it but for $20,000 id rather live with the extra weight!

    Brompton luggage block fail

It should come out with the reverse drill bit but worse case it will have to be drilled oversize and a either a thread insert kit used or tapped to the next size up. Maybe higher tensile strength bolts could be used with thread lock?

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

Yes it will be trial and error for the first build, I have a CA and a fully programmable controller so I will be able to tame the power to suit, plus I wont be able to use full power if I expect any kind of useable range from the limited battery capacity I can carry, your vision of me flipping...

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

Hi thanks for the advice, I'm initially looking to run 48v 15ah, I'm not sure if I will get enough range from this but its a good place to start, I would love to run 72v 20ah eventually but I need a frame that can store the batteries much lower, this is why I'm toying with the idea of building...

Police Officers, The Law & eBikes, funny video attached.

Although I agree with the above, I think that if Police officers, the so called trusted officers that uphold our laws decide they can behave in any manner they wish, because after all they ARE the law, then filming them and displaying it to the tax paying public and hopefully they're superiors...

First week with my ebike - I'm a convert!

I cant wait to finish my build, I was also toying with the idea of selling my motorbike to fund a nice battery pack, rather than having to settle for what I can afford, but having not ridden an ebike yet I'm a little apprehensive. I might just slap a couple of SLA batteries on the back just to...

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

Exactly what I was thinking because my controller is fully adjustable including the regen effectiveness and regen voltage. Paul

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

I agree, but if it gives me a little power and some braking effort then its worth using it if you have the option with your controller, if it extended my range by 50m id be happy lol

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

Size is correct if the website sizes are correct, the box does look big in the photos, there will be some room in there but not as much as the photo makes it look like, I still have alot of work to do, I have torque arms to make, I need to extend the motor phase and hall cables 500mm, bolt on...

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

Yeah Im going to stick with the A5 to get to work, I think it will be safer than the B roads, the cardboard box you can see in the pics is the correct size for a 15ahr headway pack with BMS weight around 10kg, I intend to fix the controller to the front of the box then run the cables direct into...

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

Well when done I will try it out measuring speed by gps, as I said whats it can do and what I let it do are 2 different things, I would run 72v 24s 2p if I had the room in my frame but I just dont unfortunately and at max speed pedalling may not be an option, I have hopefully posted some pics of...

    Hi from Anglesey North Wales

Hi All, Thanks for the warm welcome, although Im loathed to mount the battery in the rear so high up, with the bike frame I have there isnt very much room in the triangle, I have done a few tests with 15kg in the top box and it does feel a little top heavy but not unmanageable, i may have to...
