Flebi SL 9kg leccy folder, new?

It looks like it may have only 1 gear and may have been weighed without the battery, pedals, etc, to get down to 9kg. The 'standard' model 'claims' 10.5kg. :-)

Flebi SL 9kg leccy folder, new?

Just saw this bike, ' Flebi SL', Brompton-ish fold, claims to be only 9kg! ( Motor maybe only 120w, as per 'Standard' 10.5kg model €649) Novel mag molded front wheel with drum/roller brake and a pancake motor in the fork, ring gear driving it via a pinion. Different. Sites showing it all in...

Infrastructure Bill Vote Mon 26 Jan

Please consider emailing your MP to vote for Cycling and Walking Amendment in the Parliamentary vote coming this Mon. It seems on the face of it that the Bill omits them! There are standard letters to use on CTC like: Dear ? ? Please vote to support the inclusion of a Cycling and Walking...

    best chain for bbs02?

A steel housing screwed into an aluminium hub, using a fine thread, and tightened by repeated application of the cyclists weight on the pedals, together with torque from a powerful electric motor, in wet and possiblly salty conditions... Probably seized up and the threads corroded beyond use...

    Puncture!

Trouble with puncture resistant tyres is the tougher they get, the heavier, greater rolling resistance, expense, difficult to fit, and then they wear out and you have to start all over again. :-( Keep putting in old tubes as liners until they stop going flat. Its a pig to pedal , but it's free...

    Just for a laugh...

Wonder how the Ultrasonic bath would compare with a standard chain cleaner bath with an electric air pump hose down in the fluid? Probably too many bubbles! o_O

    How to avoid Roadrage...

Yes, getting the balance right is tricky :(. Progress vs Protection. Another way of being 'assertive' is to attend any public Cycling Demos. It's safer en masse, and with enough people to boost numbers, the action becomes suddenly 'visible' to the media, who influence 'politicons' a lot. e.g...

    Solar Panel Roads

Cost, wear n tear, and digs are all against them & 'glow in dark' surfaces too. If the existing roads aren't being maintained and London is even dropping coloured cyclepath surfaces to save money, it doesn't look favourable.

    How to avoid Roadrage...

Probably the best remedies for Road Rage are a Presumed Liability law, strict enforcement and cameras everywhere, to provide the evidence. Better infrastructure helps in a more passive way, segregation means less opportunity for "might is right" to creep in. I ride defensively, but I shouldn't...

    Squeezed yet again

As in life, from the playground onwards, there are those who think "might is right" and have a "need for speed" ;) Couldn't play the video, is it in flv, flash format?

    Police crackdown on illegal e-bikes

quote "... scare stories of illegal gangs of tearaway old duffers terrorising and causing mayhem on pavements and shopping centres on 'soupled-up' scooters... sound familiar?..." unquote. Reminded me of this: Monty Pythons - 'Granny Gang' :)

    Handlebars

You may mean the 'North Road' style of handlebar. Probably SJS cycles and others have them as long as they fit your stem clamp size (folding bikes sometimes have custom sizes). CH White is a Dahon dealer & has a very confusing website that includes...

Some Random Thoughts On bicycle Design.

Interesting points about lack of interest in bicycle innovation in the media, while sponsored events get saturation coverage, Mmm :) 'spose not everyone wants to watch how a Burrows 2D bike would compare with an Airframe or Airnimal, etc!

    Number Plates for Bikes Again

    Post-pedelec bike?

o_OWould a steering damper help the Brompton wobble without (much) extra weight to carry up that flight of stairs you mentioned. A stair-climber idea used in Netherlands is a channel at the side for the wheels to roll up. Can walking speed mode get a bike up stairs?

This sound promising for cheaper e-biking

True but perhaps someone cleverer than I can show how the 'law of diminishing returns' applies to batteries and their shipping costs/restrictions. Im looking forward to the 'Supercapacitors' we hear about, and if they can be shipped discharged, that may kill 2 birds with 1 stone! :-)

    Met Police seize Motor-Assist Pedicabs

4million estimated worldwide in 1980's, but only 11 in Amsterdam with elec-assist for the hump-back bridges! So appear to be licensed, limited, and subsidised tourist attraction. ..While locally.."In 2006 Transport for London commissioned a consultation in respect to the growing number of...
