    Volt Pulse X

Nice comments Covkid, I agree with much of what you wrote. I have now owned my Volt Continental for just over three years, it feels a very solid bike, the build quality is very good, the paint job has held up extremely well, it is lovely to ride and at 6'5" tall and with a history of tumours in...

    Back into the fold

It was sad to see the demise of Alien. The gents special seemed a very decent bike for a little over £550, I had some really good rides on mine, I like my new bike, but I haven't used it nearly as much. 10 years ago I think Alien helped introduce many of us to the joys of e-biking. Welcome back...

    Volt VS Cyclotricity?

Untested on that front I'm afraid Dave. I live in relatively flat East Anglia and haven't yet taken the bike outside of my locality, although I strongly suspect significant pedalling would be required for steep hills. I chose the bike as I am 6' 5" tall and this bike is just about OK for me size...

    Volt VS Cyclotricity?

I have owned a Volt Continental since March 2015, I am generally really pleased with the purchase. It has a nice look and feel to it, I'm no expert, but I weigh a similar amount to you and the bike pulls me along at a decent speed and is generally a nice smooth ride.

    Seat raise mechanism

The Volt Continental I test rode had one of these, but the bike that was delivered came with a standard suspension seat post which was a bit disappointing as it was a feature I rather liked. It is a hassle taking the seat post off every time the battery needs to come out.

    Throttle de-restriction

Sorry folks to drag up an old thread, but wondered if any of the tech guru's on this site could add an opinion to the original post here?

    Woosh Sirocco CDL Rattling

Could be the rattle from all that change you have in your pocket having bought a very reasonably priced electric bike. Unlike some other's I could mention...;)

    Woosh Sirocco CDL Rattling

My Alien battery would rattle sometimes despite being locked in position. A little manipulation of the cage with a pair of pliers soon put it right. Perhaps worth checking the mudguard also...

    Bikes with throttles?

It's such a pity as I genuinely think there would be a lot of interest in that type of programme if they had better informed, more palatable presenters. As it stands, I rarely watch it as I find it a bit irritating. Had a look at Volt's website, I like the look of the Volt Continental, will...

clicking from my bike, identifying the source

Take a look at this thread: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/alien-gs-ii-problem-strange-clicking-noise.6271/ I had a similar problem a few years ago, not sure I ever really got to the bottom of it, other than it might have been the spokes coming loose. But some of the suggestions that...

    Throttle de-restriction

Yep, the juicy is too small for me, I'm 6'5" tall, so the 20" frame & 28" wheels on the Dawes is about the minimum size I would consider - even that will most likely be a bit too small for me, ideally I'd need a 23" frame with 700c wheels, but there is no such throttle option bike suitable for a...

    Throttle de-restriction

Thanks for the reply. Well, due to significant pain issues which cycling can trigger, I can become uncomfortable pedalling midway through a ride, even though I might have started out fine. At such times I don't want to aggravate further nerve pain and would simply prefer to ride home using...
