Hi all just bought 2 15ah 48v batterys from an eBay seller called pedalease..very fast delivery, nice wheel kit..one of the batterys charges to 54.1v and the other only 53.2... the chargers are rated as 54.6v. I don't really want to take thencase apart and try and balance individual cells... I have contacted seller twice with no reply...

What do you think I should do guys?..
Fight it or leave it...???

Also...I took bottom off battery and cells day samsung on them...I take it they are probs fake, as I'm sure no one would make up a battery from nice cells and not put a good balance chip in there...

Check the both chargers out put voltage to see if you get 54.6v if not adjust the voltage trimming port inside.
Also try leaving batteries on charge for an hr or two after the green charge light comes on to see if they balance better.
Pedalease are quick to take your money a part from that they are shite to deal with.

Thanks I will try checking what the chargers are putting out...I left one on charge overnight on green light, did not balance :-(... I'm just hoping they are samsung cells inside....they say samsung on them but I know they could still be fake...I got 16 miles yesterday onthrottle only for half the journy and half pedal assist 4 on my lcd3 1500w motor... I'm thinking that's quite good?..

Is the battery 15ah a rounded up figure or a proper 15ah.

If the later then cells will be 30Q, if not they will be 29E.
29E will loose capacity quite quickly with a 1500w system.

N.B.
Just seen the spec 29E cells used for 35a rated controller, going to end in tears as the cells are no good for higher power. Battery is in fact 14.5ah as the cells are 2900mah x 5 in parallel for 14,500mah/14.5ah. In all reality 29E's are only rated for 2.75a continuous draw with occasional short draws of 8.25a, the cell is for low powered bikes and not your monster bike.

It says samsung 29e on this battery description...I thought 16miles of quite throttle hungry riding was quite good?... am I just going to ruin these batterys?...

Yes !!!
Throttle delivers on the whole max amp draw all the time. You are asking/drawing 25- 35 amps continuously for 5p config cells that are only rated for 13.75a continuous draw or the odd draw spike of 41a max. The cells are just not suitable for your use and will not last more then 3 - 6 months without serious capacity loss.

I have 29E batteries which I use, they were fine with my BBS01 max 18a draw controller as the amp draw was only occasionally at 17-18a and i would get up to 50 miles range. Then used it on another set up of similar draw maybe up to 20a unrestricted for nearly 30mph on a few speed tests, after that the cells performed significantly worse.

Performance is now a bit limited, 3 years later both batteries still in use range is only good if used on lower power setting of pas 2. I get 40 miles of riding on flattish terrain in pas2 (3.5a draw ) and 24 miles in pas 3 (5a draw). Give full power and voltage sags terribly and after a 5 -8 miles lvc comes in to play until V's rebound.
Max cell charge voltage is now 4.14v all cell groups perfectly balanced, capacity has been lost though batteries are only ok for low power use.

Ideally for your system you need better cells.
15a Samsung 30Q, 20a LG HG2 or 30a Sony VTC6 that can handle the power.

Yes !!!
You need to match cell specs that are suitable to your usage/applied amp load.
Problem is not many capable hard case batteries are available mostly you have go to Luna cycles or EM3EV for higher power ones or speak to Jimmy at BGA Reworking to discuss your requirements.

Pucker 10a cells aren't really much use either as they will only output a 30 - 50amp discharge for about 75 seconds in 5p config before the get too hot, once this happens cells will suffer and aging takes affect reducing life span/performance.

Hey nealh, thanx for your advise...hopefully seller will give me my money back, if not I have faith in paypal. I have attached a picture from a seller with a website called "the small green room" what do you think..also seen a shark case with Samsung 30Q cells 15ah... either would do the job I imagine...

I think the shark case will be 5 cells in parallel so 75a draw with up to 100a for spikes of high current.
Ideally you should consider fitting a pas sensor and magnet ring to give the battery a bit of an easier time instead of full throttle every where.

I do hav a pas, I normally spend 60-70% of my ride on pas 2-3 600w max...I also have speed limit set to 22mph...don't need any faster than that... looks like 30Q for me then...or maybe that monster 25ah 52v triangle...Will call him tomoz...could be and expensive day
