It will probably be early next week as China time is ahead of us so they are well into their weekend, but you can use a translator for the non-embedded text in the pdf.

Hech, if the controller is in the housing the 2 wires may be just battery connection with a separate small connector for the meter and throttle.
Just checked the pdf, it shows as above.

Says it's brushless but looks like just two wires, black and red, from the motor suggesting it is a brushed motor, wonder if shemozzle can confirm?
It does seem to have PAS and throttle. Probably similar to the GNG2 in power output but without the chain therefore quieter and cleaner.
Let's hope at $300 that includes delivery to doorstep!
It is brushless and pre-wired using the same wiring system I used on my recent Brompton conversion.
If the cable lengths are generous it should be very much plug and play.
The 2 wire lead shown is for the battery.

If used within design specifications I can see this as being reliable and a cracking little conversion kit.

If the chain line is not too much out of alignment I can see it fitting on a Brompton but the folding would be compromised.

No top speed but a great hill climber;)

No mention of this on the Bafang website...
Yeah, Suzhou Bafang would do so much more business if they were more generous with their product info.
It's been like that for years. You try getting an e-mail reply from them. More chance of winnng the lottery :D

At 15a, I wouldn't expect too much in the way of grunt - My GNG 250w was peaking at 13a standard & was less than exciting: I soldered the shunt to give 17a peak & things have improved, but I'll have to try to get it to 20a before blowing the battery fuse, like last time

Although, having said that - It puts out 80Nm as standard, so it ought to climb well.

Why does it need brake switches? Perhaps they're not really needed.

From the German site above it appears there will be 3 versions:

Notes. the versions BBS02 (speed sensor with resignation) and BBT (Torque Sensor / torque sensor) are available only in a few months. The BBS01 in June `13.

The BBS01 is the current one we are looking at - no torque sensor - it activates the drive off the speed sensor output so will probably have a motor run on.

The big decision will be to get the speed sensor version or wait until the torque sensor one comes out.

I don't really understand how a speed sensor is an alternative to a torque sensor and vice versa.

One of the german threads mentioned that the pedals had to be turning for the motor to work (as the german reg's require) so there must be some kind of pedal sensor used.

Hi amigafan,

It looks like an eZee kit with bottle battery would work with that bike, similar to this one we took to the Eden Project.
