The question is how much cost a rear wheel rebuild? (I'll need one once I'll have the motor fixed!)

do you mean labour cost, or build with new spokes/ rim etc?

I build my own wheels these days, but last time I asked my local bike shop it was about £25 plus parts - if you want a top chap, who charges a bit more Ryan Build Wheels is good, labours £35 from him I think.

IMO its worth finding someone who knows what they are doing as well built wheels are like a piece of art (I dont really know but go very slowly / carefully and have access to tension meters and stuff which helps)

i mean labour and parts. Thanks for your reply, I now have an idea of what labour could cost. I have looked into the topic of wheel rebuild and even if I love being temeraire, I would not come near. This is a specialist job in my opinion (unless perhaps if you have access to the right tools and take the time as you seem to do).
What about parts?

I've not quite made it to the tensioning stage, but have managed to do spoke length calcs using online calculator. and laced a couple of wheels up, then given them to my LBS for the tricky bit. they charged me £15 labour and I think Sapim spokes were around £20.

any recommendation for a bike mechanic who could do the job in London? always trying to stay local as much as possible (+small businesses need support down here with excruciating rent costs!)
