began with a grotty old apollo bought on gumtree, salvaged the frame and a front wheel, everything else has been replaced with new parts
before..

after the bbs02 750watt kit..

have replaced the rear wheel and derallieur etc with an Alfine 8 IGH..

any questions just fire away.. !

How's the Alfine 8 IGH coping with the torque from the Bafang?

Have always wanted to dabble in a low maintenance gear solution, but wasn't sure if IGH's could cope with the Bafang's power.

It`s early days yet, won`t know until after a few hundred miles. One or two on EndlessSphere have a few thousand on theirs, i reckon if you don`t beat on it you can get away with decent service.
If you have to stop suddenly or caught out at a junction just clik clik clik and your off in the proper gear again, no fuss. The chainline is always correct and you can always fit a stronger single-speed chain.
Gear change is smoother, just a split second stop on the pedals does the trick.
Only thing i`ll probably do is change the sprocket to a 18 or 16t, the present 20t maxes out too soon, prices reasonable at £7 - £10 a time.
