Hi im happy with my Haibike but if recomending to a friend what bike would it be.Haibike,Dirt e,Cube reaction,or prehaps a Halfords model.Carrea etc.Something in 1500 to2500 price range.

And if your budgeting there’s still 16 , 17 year models around at good prices

I ride a couple of inexpensive kit bikes around similar areas and they cope pretty well. For that budget, and a lot less, I might consider one of these..

They seem to cope pretty well on road and up steep hills.
